Zorro, that is frightening.

Anyway, this is the Zorro Q and A, so here goes:

Do you believe in ghosts? Why/Why not?

Did watch The Smurfs when you were little?

What did they say to the Manager when they were caught with Chicken in her purse?

What does "Do you know what?" mean? It seems like your asking a question, but your really not, and yet you are. Why noy not just say "Hey, I have something to tell you," or some other segway?

Has anyone ever read "War and Peace" from begining to end and lived to tell the tale?

Why aren't there 6 packs of Cherry Coke (in bottles) at the moment, they seem to have it in everything else execpt in 6 packs?

Is their intelligent, non-geek, life on earth? What do they think about if not geeky things?

What's your favorite all-time candy?

If you could be any type of character, who would you be? Why?

How old are you?

How come I just bought a new set of 100 markers, and the only one that doesn't work is the black one, which I'd use the most...?

Why do I have a serious fear of failure?

Do you eat pork?

Who is Hubert?

What does he look like?

What the hell are you doing posting in your underwear?

Have any of my posts ever made you mad? Why/Why not?

Did that make you mad?

How come Marge stays with Homer after all the things he's done?

Should I go out and get my mail right now?

Will I find a penny in the privacy of my own home??

What does my face look like?

What does your face look like?

What is the thing you most often think about?

Look at me, dammit, I'm your little princess!!

I just read through some of the previous thread and NOW I have a question for Nayt:

What am I like? Psychologically...if it's true about what you said...oh, the hell with me.

...Yes, you still must answer, even if I damn myself !!

I love to tease My parents, besides, they deserve every bit of it. I don't get into the intricate details, but they know very well the basic idea of what I do. She was really worried last year when I went to a BDSM campout all by Myself. This year should be easier on her. I had a lot of fun showing her My new van. I told her all the tie down points were not really for cargo but to hold the females still so they didn't get away. I never get tired of her facial expressions...........Z

[QUOTE]Originally posted by GameMaster:
[B]Do you believe in ghosts? Why/Why not?

A; Yes, I have seen them. That was a long time ago but it has haunted Me ever since >;o). I believe ghosts are people who had unfinished business when they died. They cannot cross over to where it is dead people go until they have completed whatever it is that keeps them here. I have a feeling I will be roaming the earth long after My death as I surely will still be looking for whatever it is I can't find.

Did watch The Smurfs when you were little?

A: yes, and I still watch it on the rare days when there is nothing else on. I feel sorry for Gargamel, if only he knew about agent orange.

What did they say to the Manager when they were caught with Chicken in her purse?

A: Not a damn thing, they just nodded their heads like little kids with their hands still in the cookie jar.

What does "Do you know what?" mean? It seems like your asking a question, but your really not, and yet you are.

A: It is a trick question, they are asking you if you know what they are about to tell you, but they don't really want you to answer yes. They wish to be the one to bring you the news so it is best to indulge them and answer "what". Unless of course you are sadistic like Me and answer "yes" even without knowing what it is they are going to tell you.

Why noy not just say "Hey, I have something to tell you," or some other segway?

A: That would make too much sense. Most of the more intelligent people I have met would never ask "Do you know what?" . I find the people who ask such a thing are also the kind of people who will say somtehing like "I heard that!" right after you exclaim something.

Has anyone ever read "War and Peace" from begining to end and lived to tell the tale?

A: I think the author did. I have yet to read it, I'm still working on the Butter Battle Book by Dr. Seuss.

Why aren't there 6 packs of Cherry Coke (in bottles) at the moment, they seem to have it in everything else execpt in 6 packs?

A:I am sure it is out there, and I know who to ask. http://cherrycokeworld.com/archives.asp

Is their intelligent, non-geek, life on earth? What do they think about if not geeky things?

A; yes, but they are all in mental institutions. non-geeks are incapable of handling intelligence. Kind of like Frodo and the ring. They are eventually consumed by it and become evil. We geeks are the only true intelligence bearers.

[QUOTE]Originally posted by Twinkle Toes:

A: Hershey's chunks

If you could be any type of character, who would you be? Why?

A: There are so many I like, where do I start. I definately think the space pirate theme is leading the pack. I like the idea being outisde the law and on My own. I would need a really powerful ship though, I have a feeling there will be a lot of people out there who will not appreciate My adventures. I just wonder if I would be able to assemble a crew who would actually want to follow My dreams.

How old are you?

A:28 and 8 months

How come I just bought a new set of 100 markers, and the only one that doesn't work is the black one, which I'd use the most...?

A: the guy at the marker factory needed it more that you did. The jerk must have put it back on the assembly line when he was done. Or he simly left the cap a little loose.

Why do I have a serious fear of failure?

A: it is a common geek ailment. we hold ourselves to a higher standard and not achieving is simply unacceptable. success is the one thing we do well and it would make us look bad to fail. I have been lucky enough to have failed miserably over and over agin so I no longer worry about it anymore. I expect failure so anything that actually works is a super bonus.

Do you eat pork?

A; Sometimes, but I prefer beef.

Who is Hubert? What does he look like?

A: this is the only one I know off hand http://socrates.berkeley.edu/~hdreyfus/

What the hell are you doing posting in your underwear?

A: it is very warm in here tonite, and I like the freedom.

Have any of my posts ever made you mad? Why/Why not?

A: no, it takes a lot to make Me mad, I am just too burned out and desensitised to get mad at a post. besides, it's hard to get mad at a name like twinkle toes.

Did that make you mad?

A: no, but it was a good try.

How come Marge stays with Homer after all the things he's done?

A: she is a control freak. she knows homer cannot survive without her and that gives her power. she lets him have his way from time to time but in the end she is the one who's wearing the pants. she needs to feel needed and homer needs her more than anyone, even the kids.

Should I go out and get my mail right now?

A; no, finish reading these first.

Will I find a penny in the privacy of my own home??

A: no, your home is not private, but you will find a penny.

What does my face look like?

A: kinda like that face you see in the mirror.

What does your face look like?

A; someone who has been to hell and back only to find he forgot the t-shirt.

What is the thing you most often think about?

A: another toss up. sex is way in the lead, but being the person I wish I was is a close second.

Can you believe I almost forgot too. You would make a great alien. In fact, I think all geeks are aliens. There is no way we could possibly be from this planet, we have to have been planted. Possible our moms were gang probed by aliens and they were impregnated by a higher species. Or maybe it is the other way around, maybe the average joe is the alien. Perhaps they are eventually going to be a slave race. Either way it is much cooler if we were the aliens...........Z

Wouldn't they be slowly taking over and inslaving us... Geeks aren't politicians that often... Look at Clinton's social calandar, look at Gore's "I invented the internet" diatribe look at the fat that Bob Dole is still sexually active (Don't get any metal images, it won't be pleasnt... I was refering to the Viagra commerical). In fact it seems that most bosses of geeks are lamemen, and force us to use our geekiness for their benifit. The midless shall rule the world, we we don't stand our ground. (*get's idea*) ... Uhhhhhhh... what's a Hard Ram with 256 gig-a-what? (*if you can't beat them hide among them... Unless the BOFH was right about dumby mode...*)

now that you mention it all of My superior are idiots. no fair, I need to start My own business. of course, compared to management, I look so damn good. There is a possibility that we geeks are supposed to be in our lowly positions so that we don't draw attention to ourselves. This way when the takeover occurs, the laymen will never know what hit them. **as if they could understand what hit them anyway** I just wish the aliens would hurry up and make their move, this manual labor is soooo boring........Z

Geeks held in seeming lower positions really have the power, although management doesn't know it.... Hmmmmm.... *build take over scheme*
All buissness lose all their servers (except "Geek owned," "Geek run" or "Geek supply" companies), telephones, fax machines and power suddenly.... The geeks quit their "your company's computer guy," messely jobs and storm the world capitals of computer/technology driven countries and demand that they institute new government (a democracy with a test to gain the vote, perhaps.... Or an oligarchy with an "intelligencia" at the reigns). We demand that caffine be a right; that C, C++, assembly or a S(tandard)ML be the offical world language; that people in technical geeky professions are tax exept; that /. and other geek news media become the offical "NEWS"; mandate that all people must read, understand and follow the EULA of the new world goverenment (a government by the geeks, for the geeks and with the geeks).... Of course the great date for this overthrow? Geekday of course (10/10). No hositle takeover with bullets flying, just a simple "you want elctricity? you want your cyber porn? you want to use your cell? all you gotta give us control of your government."

Hmmmmm, while this is against the basic philosophy and ideals that I believe in; I must admit it sounds great to me. *Oh, wait geek must look like a slave race 'till then...* I mean... ummm... yes boss, I can fix your computer.

Does anybody else have a problem with a gateway computer.I got a gateway computer in August of 2001, I swear its a piece of crap,no joke LOL. I also have a computer running WINDOWS 95 from 1994,that runs faster then the 2001 gateway running WINDOWS ME. The 2001 PC has got 312 RAM, 80 GB hard drive, DVD/CDRW (that runs right)running Pentium 4 ,,I basically was on the phone for about 4 hours talking to some idiot at gateway, but he seemed to be blaming everything on me. He told me it was because WINDOWS ME is so big ,it wasscrewing it up, So i installed WINDOWS 2000,which was actually what the sticker on the computer said it was made for. Anyway, that didn't work either. It kept doing the same thing which I'll get to in a minute. So I basically was about to throw it out the window, and decided to try to put Mandrake Linux on it.same results.
What it does is it shuts itself off. I goes to a standby light. But I thought it was because of a certan windows setting but after installing another windows and a completly different OP on it, I am now baffled.LOL ,,,, can someone please help me,i have put alot of money into this, almot 3 grand and it is just going to waist,if someone could help me out I would praise u till the day I die ,, LOL thanks!!!

My brother had a gateway and it worked just fine......until we started to upgrade the components. That piece of crap had a problem with almost everything we tried to add. Finally we ened up parting it out and giving most of the gateway garbage to friends.......Z

My main machine is a Gateway... It's sweet... I'm quite pleased with a lot of Gateway, and I think your problem is probably WinDOZE ME or another software problem... First uninstall the extra gateway tools, if you don't use them, and then set your virtual memory (if memory < 256 then virtual memory should be set equal to twice the amount of installed memory, else if memory >= 256 set virtual memory equal the amount of memory), if you have a always on broadband connection to the internet you may want to set your brower's "temparary files"/cache to the lowest setting as the harddrive will be slower than the connection, and lastly keep an eye on memory (remeber that anything running uses ram, even if you don't see it, and, if you feel comfortable doing so, you should thusly remove anything youdon't want to load on boot time from your system registry->startup list).
You might also consider a downgrade to Win 98 SE, as it is faster, sleeker, and a bit more stable.

The Gateway hardware has proven it self to me, WindDOZE ME and XP have not. If problem presists talk to gateway and ask the right questions. I found that they do have a good group of tech people, but they also have some dim-witted sales people... If it turnsout to be the hardware, you may want to consider overclocking before you consider replacing (if you know how, and aren't afraid of burning a few chips) as fans are cheaper than chips...

Just a few tips, few options and few of my feelings on the matter as a Gateway computer owner (who's built a few).
____________________________________________________

As for "Why?": "Because" is a "B" answer, and "Why not?" is the "A+" according to a philosphy professor who gave this as the only question on the final a few years back (or so a urban legend goes at my university)... I thought you'd have more fun with it Zorro.

Why do women wear make-up, even when their boyfriends tell them they don't prefer make-up? Are they looking ofr other men? Or, worrying about what other women think?

What is the origin of ties? I like my collection of ties, and I enjoying wearing them, every so often, but they seem to have no logical purpose other than deceration. What about pocket squares that aren't hankies? It seems silly that we have to carry a hanky and a pocket square, why can we offer a fine peice of silk that was in your lapel pocket to the lady when she crying rather than one thats spent the night in a fron pants pocket collecting lint and getting wrinkled? Why is formal black tux only appropriate after 6, and what happens if the part crosses the line from afternoon to eveing or if you have to run earands before that make it earlier than six?

Why do I ask these long winded groups of questions and wait for you to post silly/funny/prevert answers? And how come you take some of the marvolous oppertunities to prevert a thread that yells "prevert me!"?

(serious question) Why is my ICQ (build 3659) unmovable on my screen? Is this an old beta version? I may have the answer before you post, but in case I don't have time, or can't find it... also, how do I fix it?

Why am I so lazy? I'd give examples, but I'm too lazy to...

I digress.

thanks for fielding the gateway question, I wasn't sure what was causing problems with my brothers but now that you mention it, He did have ME. I also would have taken the WHY question further but it was left too open, I could have spent all day answering all the WHY's in My life. I am happy with the A+ though, thanks >;o) ......Z

[QUOTE]Originally posted by GameMaster:
[B]Why do women wear make-up, even when their boyfriends tell them they don't prefer make-up? Are they looking for other men? Or, worrying about what other women think?

A: they are not interested in impressing their boyfriends but are more worried about other females and potential future mates. No matter how many times My dad tells My mom she looks pretty, she will still spend an hour getting dolled up just to go to the casino. never mind it is too dark to really notice anyway. For some odd reason other women's opinions seem to matter. I think there also might be a self esteem problem for some of them. They feel they are less attractive without it no matter how much encouragement they are given.

What is the origin of ties?

A: It started out as a leash back in the caveman days. As men evolved and became employed it was the employer who put the leash on them. Eventually, employers were paying enough to not require a leash and women found a physical leash was no where near as effective as a psychological one until the leash itself disappeared. There needed to be a symbolic replacement though as men were so used to having them that the first tie was invented. It was similar to the noose that men had adorned for so lone but eventualy became decorative. Females have not forgotten the symbolism which is why they are so adept at tying the tie around men's necks for them. Employers know this too and some of them still require them to be worn.

What about pocket squares that aren't hankies?

A: this is another relic of a bygonne era. It is another form of marking territory. Wives and employers used to have them in a unique pattern. This made it easier to identify who your partner was and where you worked. Now like the tie, it is just a decorative symbol.

It seems silly that we have to carry a hanky and a pocket square, why can we offer a fine peice of silk that was in your lapel pocket to the lady when she crying rather than one thats spent the night in a fron pants pocket collecting lint and getting wrinkled?

A: it is to tell if she likes you or not. If she is willing to use the hanky in your pocket, then she must like you a little. The fun part is telling her where the hanky is and letting her find it herself *wink wink*

Why is formal black tux only appropriate after 6, and what happens if the part crosses the line from afternoon to eveing or if you have to run earands before that make it earlier than six?

A: it's not, it is just some snobbish ettiquette that the "high society" has imposed on everyone. I never pay attention to such things. Some rules make no sense and people will invent a reason for why you have to follow it. Kinda like not wearing white after labor day. If you get caught wearing your tux before 6, the snob police will give you a ticket and you won't get invited to parties if you acquire too many violations >;o)

Why do I ask these long winded groups of questions and wait for you to post silly/funny/prevert answers?

A: it is fun, though I don't always have a perverted answer. I suppose I could spend a little more time thinking of one, but then I wouldn't be able to play Tribes2 as much.

And how come you take some of the marvolous oppertunities to prevert a thread that yells "prevert me!"?

A: It depends on how I feel, if it is easy and I feel like doing the easy one, I will. Sometimes it is just too easy and I won't take the bait simply because that is what they are expecting Me to do. But if I am in the mood, I will pervert any thread that rubs Me the right way >;o)

(serious question) Why is my ICQ (build 3659) unmovable on my screen? Is this an old beta version? I may have the answer before you post, but in case I don't have time, or can't find it... also, how do I fix it?

A; I have been able to move My ICQ to wherever I want it, though I usually leave it somewhere out of the way or minimized. I am not too impressed with ICQ, it is not the easiest one to personalize. I haven't tried too hard to correct the things I don't like so I'm afraid I can't give a good answer on how to fix yours.

Why am I so lazy? I'd give examples, but I'm too lazy to...

A: being lazy is so much fun, if I had a job that would allow for it, i'd be lazy all day and every day.............Z

What's wrong with a little makeup, guys? I never believed anyone who said I looked better without it.Personally, I only wear it because I look very young without it, and I'm not a very fru-fru type girly girl, so it's the only thing that makes me feel feminine.

Aha, two of my favourite pet hates - femininity and pretence of looks :) I'll deal with the latter first.

Excessive make-up makes people look "slutty", and I think that is more of a universal opinion. However, moderate make-up itself has two problems for me - firstly it lets someone pretend to look different to who they really are, and secondly it looks unnatural. I don't like to be deceived, nor do I want to become attracted to unreal looks. Being geeks, looks aren't meant to matter anyway, although they seem to to me (but I put that down to inexperience (lack of relationships)). I also simply don't find artificial colours attractive (no-one really has bright red lips, blue eyelids, or other daft colours). Now, limiting make-up to simply that which looks natural after application, it is still a false appearance, and I also dislike the idea of time being wasted to apply it. It is one thing to look nice in yourself (as opposed to scruffiness) but to alter your appearance is something else, which I don't like.

Now, maybe some of that is due to my general dislike for femininity, or aspects thereof. Some things I find appealing (I'm a big sucker for sweetness), but other things aren't. <flame-shield>Girls/women are, physically, the weaker sex.</flame-shield> Now, I'm not saying that macho masculinity is good either (esp. on guys), but somewhere in between for both sexes (hell, most women are probably stronger than me ;) - i.e. not Arnold Schwarzenegger, but not hopelessly incapable. Emotionally, it gets more interesting. Women seem more emotional (and those that cry over anything, hell, those that ever cry at all, are a turn-off) but I think guys probably just hide emotions. For the record, I am very emotional (which I hate, too). Again, somewhere in between for both sexes, I guess.

You getting the same feeling that I am, that I'd like to be a member of a neuter race? Hrm, damn, I need a girlfriend before I go too far ;)

However, despite how firmly I've believed all that over the years, I've never had a girlfriend, and having become attracted to people I've chatted to online (nearest is 4200 miles away), I think my opinions are definitely subject to change, as so far I've not had much real experience to go by.

Quite how I'll end up, I don't know, we'll see. Maybe married to a heavy make-up wearing and highly emotional totally-non-geek ;)

Ugh, there goes another long rambling... For the record, please, no-one get upset or angry over any of it :) I know I tend to come across as very bitter here, but I do have a sense of humour, and I'm not entirely dark and evil, I promise :)

There's nothing wrong with a little makeup... hey, it works for all those lady-boys in Thailand. (Give me a break - it's dark in those clubs!)

Problems with makeup -
1.) You can't slow dance with her check on your shoulder... you'll shemear the make-up and they'll yell at you all night, or you'll wear it home on your lappel. Remember, we don't dry clean between every wearing...
2.) You can't kiss, or drink or... because you'll take off her lipstick, and/or get it all over you. Granted that there are ways of preventing this, but it takes more time which brings us to three:
3.) We sow up to pick you up on time (like most girls I dated never did for me - as they were ALWAYS LATE) and your still calling from the bathroom "Sit down and relax, I just have to put on my face."
4.) Artifical pigment. It's fake. It feels fake, and not all of those colors occur in nature. I don't care how much or little you wear, we can tell.

Granted that I realize my hipocracy in this, but I do like the goth look for a few reasons... It is dark and playful, when done tastfully. I know it doesn't look "real" but that's the point with "goth," isn't it? And if she's "going goth" I won't be wearing anything that couldn't survive a washing with heavy cleaners. Heck I don't even mind a little if it's a special occassion and she wants to feel "all dolled up," even though most girls are more bueatiful without.

if they could make makeup in yummy flavors I would encourage girls to wear it. But the truth is, most of it is very yucky. I like to use My tongue, and I don't care for the current flavors of makeup. If it only tasted better, it would get my stamp of approval........Z

It's a BDSM thing. As a Master, I capatalize all references to Me. (though I occasionally miss a few, but those are typos). slaves and submissives have all references to them minimalized. Even thier names are lower case. It's not a requirement, but it is a perk that bothers some people. I love to bother people. It is not an ego thing, I know I am not A-1 supergod or anything. But if you have ever worked around the people I deal with everyday, you couldn't help but feel a bit on a higher plane..............Z

AMEN is what I have to say to you, GameMaster!

I don't wear makeup. I never have and I never will (well, maybe once, but I'm entitled). I think I'm more beautiful when not tampered with - heh, that means in all areas (i.e. temper).

Plus, it damages your face in later years. And what the hell's the point? :
To look more feminine? HAH! If you know me well, that's the LAST thing I'd want for myself. I hate being fashionable and girly. UUUHHH!! I don't even want to type it, dang diggity, but I will...to make my point!

To attract people? What the dingleberry for, damnit? People better like me for the person I really am,...not some dumbass bimbo, as GameMaster stated, 'trying to put on my face'. MY FACE IS ALREADY ON, YOU CUCUMBER! Yeah yeah, that's all I have to say...for now anywho...!

For yourself/myself? If you love yourself for the real person you are inside, you wouldn't cover yourself up like that. You'd let everyone see the true you. Who gives a zuccini's arse what everyone else thinks about you...only your opinion matters, especially if it's about you.

"You can't slow dance with her check on your shoulder" - No, you shouldn't...'cuz everyone would see how little money you spent on her! Ahahaha...sorry, Sir Gamer,...had to comment on that...

[Ooch...Trekker thinks I'm being cute now , teeh!]

Heh! I regretted my last post almost as soon as I'd posted it, thinking it'd upset people (especially as it wasn't a complete or accurate explanation by any means). Yet, I see that it's not just me :)

Well, I wasn't necessarily directing my rant to you...(there's enough of my anger to go around a few times, no doubt). Oh! And thank YOU for the little welcome...hehe, I got pretty mad when I thought I was banned. But I'm fine...well, at least, with that incident.

I never thought that you were, seeing as you weren't arguing against what I'd said :)

Like TheAnnoyedCockroach, it's nice to see that this is not merely my minority opinion, and there are... enlightened... people of both sexes (including evidence I've read prior to this topic). Not that it makes a scrap of odds, but still. Hope for the future, eh?

Well, my IP # started with a few numerals that were glitching or something...I don't remember much, though...it wasn't important. I thought I was booted for an actual reason. Oh well, YAY! Thank you, Snaggy .
