The next Star Trek movie will be released on the 13th December this year. Well, maybe - I found that out on the World Wide Web, but whether the release date posted is the worldwide release date I don't know (I know LOTR is released on the same date everywhere). It might just be the US release date, to which I pose to Zorro: Why do films get released in Britain some time after they are released in the US? And why is it the same with computer games? I assume, Z, that you're looking forwards to the upcoming film? It's all about.... Romulans, so you should love it. And it does indeed look good from the trailer, although the level of Hollywoodedness does put me off a bit. Nevertheless, Insurrection was the same, and it was a great film. And another question: is there a good strategy for implanting a psychological need to use Google into Spike? We could just beat him senseless until he complies, but if his mum catches us, we'd be done for... ;) (Police! run...) Oh, that reminds me, I was playing Grand Theft Auto 3 last night at PhAtfiSh's, which is a British game (made by DMA Design, who did Lemmings). Similarities to GTA3 are Driver (also British), and some of the James Bond films involving US police. My question is: it seems that we British just love taking the mick out of the US police and their car driving skills, so i) is this founded (are all the US cops Assholes (see Spaceballs)) and ii) what do you lot make of it all (real cops, our games, etc)? And who chose how to distribute cultural ways across the US? How come you all speak English, and drive on the side of the road opposite to the UK? (just a silly question that). well first off i despise search engines.. i rarely use them if at all and i knew that the next star trek movie was coming up soon.. i just didnt know the exact date soo yea.. hey as long as your british keep making top notch games like the ones you mentioned... i couldnt really care if you make fun of our cops etc.. most good games are made foreignly... ------------------ IP: Logged |

Given the quality of AI these days, it's done deliberately, although what is equally amusing is some of the other stupid drivers I've seen on the streets of wherever the game is set. Probably my two best scenes so far have been i) cop cars all driving into the driver 'cause the drivers all lost control chasing PhAtfiSh, and ii) (and this was in Driver) a cop car coming hurtling through the air, and bouncing off the top of a parked van... Other amusing slip-ups include the insta-handbrake thingy in Carmadeggon that, when applied with the car in the air after going over a ramp, stops the car but forgets to apply gravity, so the car just floats, rotating slowly from the still-active arc motion. One of my other faves is the one from Indianapolis 500, but I forgot to collect the manual back off PhAtfiSh with the protection details in (he took it away along time ago so he could play it instead), so I can take some snapshots of the problem - it doesn't seem to block DosCap from running. Oh, and some dude in GoldenEye trying persistently to walk through a door... Not to forget the antics of some Worms I've seen... Bugs are fun :) - uilleann IP: Logged |

From one of the people who always posts hosts of questions for Zorro to answer, I suggest that you make it clear that your thread is about more than just Macs... Also, you could present yourself as being as interesting (preverted) as Zorro. In C++ why is it that classes that have acess to the private parts of another are friends friends? Shouldn't they be MORE than friends before that happens? What is the scariest thing you've ever had happen to you? Do you want to have children some day? Do you want them to be smaller copies of you? the cops drive like shit in that game.. and as you start having dealings with the fbi.. it doesnt get better i think they drive even worse
like someone did... i know im not zorro but im glad if i could be any help..
