Strange Flavour gives it to the whales!

Our friends at Strange Flavour, the creators of some of our very favorite iPhone games, are taking a stand against illegal whaling by donating all of their proceeds from their games (including the best selling SlotZ Racer and Flick Sports Fishing) from the Japanese iPhone app store, to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
"With Japanese government sponsoring illegal whaling in the Antarctic whale sanctuary, Strange Flavour no longer feel that they can trade in a country where tax money from sales of their games is sponsoring the illegal extermination of endangered species."
“While donating our proceeds from the Japanese App Store is very minor in the scheme of things, we’d like the Japanese government to see that the antics of its illegal whaling industry are both embarrassing Japan and its people and causing it to lose face in a world where modern nations are realising the need to protect the environment and work together to avoid the extinction of critical species."
"We hold our Japanese gamers in the highest respect, so we decided to do this rather than penalise them by removing our games from sale in Japan.” says Aaron Fothergill, Managing Director of Strange Flavour Ltd.
In case you didn't know, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organisation. Their mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.
Magnificent Valour guys!

Geek Culture goes to the races!

Our favorite game creators over at Strange Flavour have a new version of SlotZ Racer for iPhone out. There's a ton of new features including new camera angles (helicopter view, driver view, moving views), the ability to add scenery to your track, and sharing tracks with friends. But best of all are the new cars. :-) Behold the Tubes Rock car, based on our much beloved Tubes Rock t-shirt!

and even cooler, they let me design my own CitruZ car, and I came up with the SkullZ! Don't mess with Driver Death!

SlotZ Racer lets players race against the computer or friends; a unique control system allows up to 4 people to race on a single iPhone! Features an intuitive track editor to give the player the ultimate freedom to design their very own courses, and offers a wide selection of cars to race. Compete for laps or against the clock in Time Trials, drive an endurance race, (with simulated days and nights), or play a ‘Quick Race’ to jump straight into the action. The game also includes unlockable new circuits, cars, track locations and championship challenges to keep the action exciting and fresh! Players have the option to play with lane changing, or fixed lanes for the racing purists.
This is all really cool stuff, and it's amazing that they can fit all this into an iPhone game. You can find out more on StrangeFlavour's SlotZ page, ... the SlotZ Racer page over at the mighty Freeverse, or you can just go buy it right now over on the iTunes Store.
