Apple donates MacPaint source code!
If you don't remember it, well, you should! MacPaint has been called the greatest program ever created, and rightly so. (Well, OK, maybe KidPix was better, but that's beside the point.) The real news here is that Apple has donated its source code, along with Quickdraw's, to the Computer History Museum.
You can read more about the amazing history of MacPaint over at Andy Hertzfeld's incredible folklore.org.

Psychotic, crazy, diabolical, evil, (and hilarious!)
A murder-for-hire plot goes wrong, and the interview with the husband is sooo right.

Kate Pierson's love shacks!
If you see a faded sign by the side of the road, that says 15 miles to the... Lazy Meadow Motel! Well you know you've arrived at Kate Pierson's side project, a dream getaway in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, near Woodstock, New York. That's right, the B-52 and her partner have created a cluster of adorable love shacks in the country, and they look fantastic. I'll let her describe it, since she does it so well...
As a member of the rock band, The B-52s, believe me, I've stayed at them all - from the Four Seasons in LA to the Pink Flamingo Motel in Gatorville, Florida. I do know a motel from a hotel, or a no-tell!
Inside the cozy, rustic cabins you'll find mind-blowing mid-century modern/space age/rocket-your-socks-off decor. The suites are filled with authentic 50s-style kitchens turned out with vintage cabinets, Frigidaires and stoves - all in dazzing colors! Wait 'till you get a load of my to-die-for tchotchkes from shopping sprees all around America (hey, a girl's got to do something while on tour!).
Check out all the rentals here. The Lazy Cabin looks fantastic, and I love the Airstream trailers. Next time Nitrozac and I are in the Catskills, I know where we're going to spend the night!
