Anyway, they ain't gonna win - they're on their way out. They've started losing already - as in last night's loss to Zalaegerszeg in Hungary. They may not make it to the Champion's League this year if the fail to beat them at Old Trafford next time ! Ha! That will be met with much rejoicing where I live. Chant with me folks! 1. The houses of learning will shift to a lower plateau, endangering the energies of the heavens. 2. The houses of political thought will shift to an even lower plateau of mire and malignity. 3. Two warriors will seek to destroy a ring of puissance. 4. A person of great renown will be set upon in the night but will overcome, further bearing fruits of fortune and affluence. 5. A winter will steal upon the land, plunging the mirth of those therein to avenues of climatic lows. 6. A great carrion bird will descend upon the flocks of the gullible. 7. An obsolete truth will whisper in to the dreams of many. 8. A mouse will tame the lion. 9. The tongues of many will be silenced, as a recundite personage engages in fatuous activity. 10. An evil giant will stumble on a small red fruit, causing joy to the unknown masses. IP: Logged |

Some things I predict: By Audrie Ryan 1) Zorro will probably be tied up, considering one of the cool links on his profile is bondage.com 2) Everything explained in this post WILL come true, to the delight and dismay of many: http://www.geekculture.com/ultimatebb/Forum9/HTML/000694.html 3) A woman will breastfeed a kitten back to health. 4) I will gain a geeky boyfriend either by will or by force!!! 5) A person will buy a Christian music compilation CD the same time as he/she buys the new Marilyn Manson CD, causing the cashier's head to explode into tiny bite-sized morsels idealy used as meat for Taco Bell's tacos. 6) Kutin will forget how to operate the trash compactor and use it as a drawer again. 7) I will wake up hanging upside-down from the rafters of my roof with a dirty word tattooed on my butt. 8) World peace will be accomplished just as shotguns are at low-low affordable prices 9) Michael Jackson will be referred to as "The Mummy Returns" 10) I will buy a box of Cracker Jacks in hopes of finding the other piece to my heart. Those are my predictions. BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!!! ------------------ IP: Logged |

skylar: Oh, come on... you can't say something like that and then not tell me... Apologies for baiting you. I could explain, but then, if I did, I'd probably get banged up in a lunatic asylum. GameMaster: U will realize that OS 11 isn't as good as OS 10, and fnnly switch to Linux. GameMaster not being a Mac user in the first place, I guess I can understand him being mistaken, but quite why everyone else persistently believes that I run X (not 10) no matter how many times I tell them, I know not. And it annoys me how rapidy Mac users have shunned and forgotten their Mac heritage. Mac OS 9 is not a bad OS, and I'm still running it, and it is not all evil and dreadful like Mac OS X users like to make out. And I run an old clone, so there is no need in nagging at me to buy it all the time - it won't run. And in case you've forgotten GameMaster, I already HAVE Linux on this machine, AND I'm sure I've explained elsewhere here to you just why it is that I don't use it. - uilleann IP: Logged |

I thought that'd strike a nerve, but wow.... I didn't know that you were a OS 9 person, I figured you'd not be able to live without the command line that OS X gives you (and I have no frelling idea why I wrote 10 and not X, I know it is OS X... anywho). I still think that sometime next year you'll end up running a Linux box as your main system (even if it has nothing to do with feelings about OS 11 or OS X). Sorry U. IP: Logged |

GameMaster: Users who need command-line access need Mac OS X why? There is command-line access in other unices, as well as in Windows 2000. Windows, *NIX and Mac OS all support scripting too (I've been trying out JScript recently in WSH, weird but cool), so what would be nice is JScript for Mac OS (I prefer the JavaScript syntax over AppleScript), which given the open nature of the Mac scripting system is possible if anyone wanted to do it. I run Mac OS 9 not out of choice, so much as the fact that there is insufficient speed and graphics power in a 604e Mac with a Mach64VT video chip, so I can't run 9. Which, if I was mentally strong enough to be proud of what I have to the point of being able to ignore all those who flout X around me online, wouldn't be an issue, as I do like 9, even more so after 2000 committed suicide on me earlier. I'm not, though, and I've found that running Mac OS alone is hard enough a choice to make. As for using Linux, it is perfectly possible that I could, assuming a) I got a new computer to run it on, or b) I could ever work out why going from a heavy-paging 64 Mb system to a 144 Mb system meant that it runs slower now than it did before, with no obvious reason for slow down. There's more than that to worry about (think about the fact that I'm not running it now). Actually, the idea that I might gain the motivation to learn Linux and go solving all of this, or find a Linux parner-in-crime (preferably female I can't resist adding) is in interesting one...as it is one that I like the sound of. However, I have enough false hopes as it is, without having them added to *sigh* And yes, I am aware that I've not added any contributions but then, I have no idea what the bear future holds, none whatsoever. - Uilleann IP: Logged |
