(in no particular order, number to keep them apart)
Herbs:
1.) Vanillia. Simple, sweet, and not overpowering. It is the scent of the innocent.
2.) Cinomon. Always warm, and wafts quite nicely, but can be overpowering. It is the scent of magick afoot.
3.) Patchouli. Light, ever-present, and has a calming effect. It is the scent of success in business.

Perfumes and the like:
4.) Relm. I know that it can be really over powering and cost to much for me to invest in as a wearable option.
5.) Aspen. It is what I do where, and while it can be a little much when first applied, it is subtle.

Everyday life:
6.) Coffee brewing. While I don't drink coffee, the smell is just so pleasent, it always reminds me of the local bookstore.
7.) Cigar Smoke. While I don't smoke anything, the smell of a cigar (not too close) is reminicent of distant memories that I didn't really expeirence.
8.) Old books, and lots of them. It just isn't a bookstore if I can't smell the years of use and many lives of the books...
9.) Campfire, espcially when a red wood or type of cedar is on the coals. It brings back memories of a lot of things, and always gets me nastolgic.

SMELLS I CAN'T STAND:
1.) Cigerettes. Ick, everyone in my family smokes, and having to leave the room cause I can't breath all the time is really annoying.
2.) Tar. Fresh laid tar is one of the worst.
3.) Burned or burring rubber/plastic. YUCK!

On the first, you might try a small crockpot (one of the pot pourri dohickies) with some coffee grounds for the scent; just make sure you add water periodically.

Cigar Smoke: depending on wind conditions, you might be able to light one in an ashtray with a chimney-like cover, sit it outside about ten feet from your window for that scent effect. (BTW, you might go to a cigar store and smell the various cigars for that particular brand you want.)

The old books smell can only come from collecting old books. Thrift shops are great places for lots of old books. Who knows, you might find something worth reading!

Now that Spring is here, cook outs and Barbeques are coming in season. after you've grilled your foods (you can grill vegies, too) remove the grill and toss a few or those cedar or redwood chips on the coals and enjoy! If you use a gas grill, well there are smoker boxes for those.

Due to allergies, I don't get to smell very often (even though I have a strong sense of smell), but when I do here's a few of my faves:

Old books and bookstores... Yes, it's been mentioned before! But there really are few smells that compare to walking into an old used book store.

Old clothes, blankets, etc. that have been stored for awhile. My grandmother had a trunk that she stored old clothes, blankets, and material in that wouldn't be opened for months at a time. I would pull out something and just breathe in that old musty smell. Salvation Army smells similar. One reason why I like going in there, I guess.

Food on the grill. Roses. Skunks. Yes, I, too, like the smell of skunks. Puppy breath. Mowed grass. An old computer that's just been opened up. New car (I don't smell that one very often.) My Little Ponys. A couple of others that have been mentioned: coffee and cigar smoke. Just not too much cigar smoke. Garlic. New clothes. Wood. Rice Crackers (they taste good, too). The smell of snow in the air. Spring. Autumn and the smell of dead leaves. Smelly stickers. Lemons. Swimming pools. Can't think of anymore right now.

A few smells I hate...cigarette smoke is #1. Hairspray. Makeup. Lysol. Air freshener. Fertilizer. Car exhaust. That stuff they put on your hair when you get a perm. Old sweat (and whoever/whatever is wearing it).

See his movie, Scent of a Woman. He won an Oscar for that movie, for his portrayal of, basically, a blind playboy.

What smells do I like? Frying bacon. Cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven. The cold morning air during a snowfall. Ocean breezes. New-car smell. Fresh popcorn with butter. A number of things...

I suppose it would help if you ever got close enough to one. I have ran into only a couple of women who didn't smell good. I am not sure what it is, but they always seem to have a good sense of smells. Go up to one sometime Nayt and give her a big inhale, maybe then you will understand..........Z

I've got some "smell-fetishes" as well.

- New Car Scent (the Car-Freshner)- it's simply WONDERFUL! I LOVE the smell.

- Generally, the smell of new - It's fabulous! Especially NEW COMPUTERS! MMMMMMMM MMMMMM! Like the iBook! I smell my iBook every day because it still has that rare scent of Apple manufacturing.

- Highly caffeinated coffee - Mmm

- Winter - It's delightful. It's the swift breeze of colder climate with a sniff of freshness.

I'm sure there's more. Those are the ones that stick out the most. :-)

MMM...smells.

My fave's are (in no particular order):

Boiled "egg" coffee (I'll explain if someone asks)
the pages of an old book
the nighttime spring air
the charcoal grill
summer rain
Nag Chaumpa incense (the BEST)
ceder
fresh baked bread
bakerys (oh I want a donut now!)
a fresh-from-the-box computer
my new (non fire producing) power supply for my PowerBook G3 (smells like new computer all the time)
Hawai`i
my friend Chris's bedroom
Grandma Kehrer's house
Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies, just opened
frying bacon
Ozone (fryed, but not burned computer components)
negatively charged air

And, in honor of a certain teen flick that was produced a few years ago:
Warm Apple Pie

Yes, I know what you mean - but I always thought it was the smell of my bank balance in free fall. No, you're right - it's a bit like the smell from freshly cracked bakelite - some sort of organic chemical.

Well, given that it's the end of the day...
A bit sweaty from karate, a bit like dry erase markers from job number two, a bit floral from my shampoo, bit of chocolate from a care package, but mostly nothing in particular (just thank your lucky stars I didn't get any lab smells clinging to me today).
Probably not too attractive but hey, it's Monday night and I really don't care.
