shyness is a bitch, but it's something you have to work at to overcome.

aye, this I know. I've been having a bitch of a time getting over shyness myself, I used the "hey, I've seen you around" thing just yesterday, I had a nice conversation with her(though I think she may have been annoyed that I interupted her reading) we talked about various things, and in the end, that's all. I didn't ask her out, though I had originally planed to, she just wasn't my type *sigh* oh well, at least I was able to talk to her...sometimes all one does need is a proper kick in the pants to start talking....goodluck dragonman, I, personally, asked a friend out once...got the ljbf speach and we are still somewhat friends(I moved out of town so it's mostly an IM relationship)....

a. Woo-hoo, 2nd page - I guess some of my rather lengthy posts may have pushed it there, but thank you everyone for you getting my first thread to this point (*single tear drops* - I'm so touched [okay, I may be exaggerating]).
b. Good points, bucketofsquids and neotatsu. I am sad to say that yesterday, I was doing some software updates in her office -- I elected to cover that area for good reason - I later explained, "because there's a cute blond working there" - my boss, who's said, "You need a girlfriend," understood perfectly -- and unfortunately, I choked up at what to say when I actually saw her there. She was working busily, and I could not think of a single ice-breaker, let alone something I could use to get myself friendly soon enough that I could come back in the future and get into conversation... [I've got to go to work now]

Edit/Append:
I also wanted to say, "Thanks for the tidbits!"
