Before, I begin, I must apologize for any confusion (and namely ambiguity), but my angry post was in response to your post in this thread and the one in the "No more bitching from me" thread. I read this second, and decided to post here. I hope that remedies at least some of this. mephisto says: But I like my high horse! All the better for cutting people down, after all. mephisto says: It sounded more like whining from this side of the HTTP request, but I'll concede the point here. Put simply, I am not very sympathetic regarding people's emotional pain, and before you say it, I expect the same of other people when I am emotionally distraught. Worst of all, that post summed up about 75% of everything I hate about Valentine's Day - bitter single people who complain about their angst-ridden life and either 1) their inability to get/keep a S.O, or 2) their recent breakup. (I mean no offense to you about this, I have to deal with it far too much). I just needed a person who fit this type to lash out at, and you were in the right place at the wrong time, so to speak. If it helps, I also didn't want you to become another angsty geek. Anyone who is a workaholic like you claimed to be should remain like that. Else I would have had to use lines like, "You could've been a contender!" and we all know that wouldn't have been pretty. mephisto says: In most cases, I would agree with you that events such as this are statistically likely to occur in all people. I cannot agree in my case; I am not the 'nice guy' some people here may still think. Nor do I have the social skills everyone else here seems to be blessed with. In fact, I am quite sure that the majority of the people with whom I have an amicable relationship tolerate me only because I am a valuable resource in doing classwork (after all, I'm still a high school student). Combine that with an abnormal love of my computer (technophilia, of course) and a face only a mother could love, I can guarantee you I will never have to deal with a romantic relationship of any kind. (Not that I really want to, for reasons which can be evidenced by your behavior after your breakup). mephisto says: That's all I ask. mephisto says: I hope you're not trying to lay a guilt trip on me, because it won't work. Though, if you aren't, I'll apologize for my outburst. ------------------ IP: Logged |

(FYI, Mecka is not only a HS student still, but has never had a relationship. Puts his comments in perspective.) I sympathize with ya, mephisto. I found a little something that might give you a smile and/or clue you into a new artist. Stop thinkin' now, quit second-guessin' all your failed relations Listen to me now, you suffer from a sad misapprehension It's hard to believe, but I'm tellin' you, your heart would soon recover, IP: Logged |

Tau Zero says: (FYI, Mecka is not only a HS student still, but has never had a relationship. Puts his comments in perspective.) What Tau apparently means by this is, "alter the meanings of what I (Mecka) say to fit your view of life." Another related method is known as "rationalizing with an obtuse metaphor, such as "sometimes the straightest path is trhought the mud." No thanks are necessary for my clarification of what could've been a disastrous misinterpretation. I guess I'm just a community service kind of guy. ------------------ IP: Logged |

[not-so-subtly guides this thread back on-topic] there. now...good ideas for a date. i posted a few a couple days back...but hell, i got some better ideas. now...assuming this isn't a first date, and if you have any artistic talent at all, you could go to an art supply shop together and plan a painting/drawing to do together...pick up the art supplies at charettes or someplace, and go back to your house to paint. go to a used-cd shop. you can both rifle through shelves of cds and records without having to flip past those annoying top-40 bands. buy some records, go home, listen to them together. dance together, chill, cuddle up or get really stoned together, depending on what you're spinning. or...do one of my favorite activities. run rampant through a toy store or kwik-mart. play with the scooters, duel in the sample games, and stage barbie battles at toys-r-us. buy her a stuffed animal. ride the shopping carts and load up on candy and ice cream at the convenience store. it sounds really lame, i know, but it ends up being a lot of fun. ------------------ IP: Logged |
