personally I feel before you can demand a good looking mate you have to ask yourself if you are in fact also good looking. If you are not, then odds are way against that ever happening. If you don't have the god given looks or put the effort into maintaining your looks, why should your mate. I know I'll never make the cover of Men's Health, Fangoria maybe, but I'll never be the type the girls swarm to. So I will never hold My mate to high expectations, I will remain open to all types. Sure I have My preferences, but I won't let them interfere with someone who has enough interest in Me. I give them all a fair chance.......Z IP: Logged |

zorro, to some people looks mean nothing, what is good looking to them is the personality and who is inside that body. I don't think you will ever find that one the cover of any magazine. It all depends on what you are looking for and what you consider good looking. Nayt ------------------ IP: Logged |

what about the cover of MacDirectory....if they're using a mac, that's enough personality for me! :P ------------------ IP: Logged |

quote: OK, so I have no idea what I'm talking about. Yet, I'll ask, is there any, requirement, as it were, that the girls are as fussy about looks as the guys are? Anyhow, personally, somehow I feel that if I don't find an attractive girl, that life will have gypped me... though, more to the point, unless there is a strong physical side to a relationship, would it still be romance? Maybe just plain best friendship is then the answer, then? (Though I'd still feel gypped).
A Canadian geek girl I encounted online, and was chatting to a bit, had her hard disc die, and wanted an FTP to leech MP3s off. I volunteered mine (tho' it only be over 56k (it's a start!)). Now, my connection times out every two hours (ISP limitation), and this girl let me believe she had some "magical" means of obtaining my new IP address on reconnect (why oh why was I stupid enough to let myself believe that? seems her version of ICQ was giving me the address); thus, I rapidly costructed a cunning program that would detect a disconnect, shut down the FTP server and connection maintainer, reconnect, and restart both apps (TCP/IP is closed along with the PPP connection, which befuddles some programs). I did try hard to get this system all working (and it did work), but hey, she isn't magical after all (argh). Since she seemed to lose interest and care in any of this, I never did make a system to actually post my IP address online or anything; had she even answered my questioning as to how she was getting my IP, I would have made that in the first place. *sigh* Hrm, just goes to show how stupid I can get if there's a girl involved, and how much effort I'll go to (normally, I'm too lazy to code anything). - uilleann IP: Logged |

Well, I've only had one girlfriend in my 22 year existence, so I must draw from that. Ummmm, I made a webpage valentine for her. I used cute boy and girl graphics and a javascript mouse trail that was a string of red hearts. It was like the bouncing ball one that you'll find but I substituted hearts. She loved it. She wasn't a geek at all but we managed to stay together for 9 months. IP: Logged |

I'm blessed? Hey, that's the best news I've had all day! Suppose I've gotta keep doing it to stay blessed though. Oh well, it's not that hard. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Some of the geekiest things I've done for women..... I once wrote a poem to aske one out... it was called "A Question of Affection" She was not a geek, that relationship lasted about 2 months. completly rebuilt an LC 475 from the ground up with all the fixin's including the set p of an internet account, for another . Warranty replacement of a keyboard that truly did not meet warranty standards (the hottest newbie/webgeek ever.. met playboy standards and had the brains to boot).

see what happens when you get blessed for one thing roach, then when you have a wreck and no real damage is done, the other guy just drives away, blessing you with less time at that godforsaken pizza place. it is a spiral. Nayt ------------------ IP: Logged |
