The last word is, according to the unabridged dictionary, zyzzogeton. I have it and I'm not giving it to any of you IP: Logged |

Sorry, but the real last word is ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..... And I am giving it away. I just want to know why there are so many threads now that have taken on this silly argument. Why don't we just let the threads end in peace? Actually, since this is the original it is the only one I'll fight for. Beisides then well all remember PI day and All Geeks Day next year.... at least untill S+N think that it is time to stop this silliness. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Well, you STILL didn't get the last word in! And anyway, since I started this thread, I'm always the one that's going to be able to get the last word in! IP: Logged |

Give over, you lot. Now, Steen's response was more like what I'd expect to see. Nice one. I originally assumed that, since he presumably used an English dictionary, there would probably be foreign words that would come after it. However, further consideration shows that, to beat it, a word would have to begin with "zyzz" (e.g. zyzzu-something) or begin "zz". These are tough criteria, although maybe some obscure back-formation or other alteration of zyzzogeton might manage. Though I wasn't competing, I'll nevertheless bow to Steen's clear victory (I don't want to go trying to prove words beginning with "zz" exist although GameMaster is along the right lines there). Oh, and thinking of nonsensical words, try Googling for randomly-hit bunches of letters (e.g. "fgfgfg"), the results are scary. - Uilleann IP: Logged |

quote: according to MY dictionary the last word is zyzzyva...which obviously would come after zyzzogeton hahahaah hahahahahah....*evil grin.....if you don't beleive me the definition is: any of various tropical American weevils of the genus zyzzyva, often destructive to plants. ------------------ IP: Logged |

necroposter? Dead poster? I think I have one of those hanging on my wall, in fact I'd be worried if a poster was alive. Reminds me of a picture I had of a couple clowns whos eyes followed you. I was never afraid of clowns (except the month after watching IT for the first time), but that picture always creeped me out. VIVE LA DIA DE PI. I know, it's not real french, it's not real spanish andcertianly not real greek... but I like it. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Ye gods, this thread is like late November, each year, when the corpse of John Kennedy is pulled out and re-examined again and the same tired old ground is trod over looking for more clues and conspiracies. Is there some way to send this thread into the Big Sleep? BTW, not all of us are Mac users, Mr. Tony--some of us still struggle on despite Windows. IP: Logged |

I suppose I should point out that today is decending prime number day, 7/5/02. At one o clock, there will be some monumental celiration where Math is the religion... unfortunatly, I'm no where near a place were Math is religion. Dawn your party hats and recite in binary all the prime numbers between 10,000(dec) and 0. ------------------ IP: Logged |
