Man what a DOG of a movie. If I had known it was another one of those "let's take a classic piece of literature and totally screw the story around because the original author didn't do a good job" movies I never would have rented it. And the "Crouching Monkey, Hidden Potato" fight sequences were ust ridiculous. I had read the first 1/4 of "The Three Musketeers" (by a very capable Alexandre Dumas) when I rented this piece of offal and there lack of similarity was astounding. I feel better now. Anyone else get cheesed when Hollywood decides the original wasn't good enough? ------------------ IP: Logged |

You might hate me for saying this, but I did NOT like the Lord of the RIngs movie. THe book was superior in so many ways . . . and they messed around with the plot! Plus, I felt that the hobbits were sort of deemphasized. The director seemed to make the movie for role-playing fanatics, rather than as an adaptation of the book. Not as bad as the Musketeer, true, but disappointing still. IP: Logged |

The Musketeer was by far one of the worst movies I ever wasted my time watching. Lord of the Rings was one of the best... So I guess my vote lies somewhere in the middle of all this. But Musketeer still sucked. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Musketeer was a terrible movie that used the word to sell the movie that is all. There are other three musketeer movies that are funny, others serious, and you just have to look at it as the sort of story that makes great movies and the only thing that they all have in common is that they all say "One for all, All for one." I can see why they left out what they left out of the LOTR and most of it is stuff that is important to the story but not as important as some of the stuff in the movie. Tom Bombidil (sp?) is one of my favorite charecters but they left him out of the movie. (which I think is a mistake as he shows up at the end of the book again) Anyway if they left everything in the movie the first one would have been about 6-8 hours long which is too much. IP: Logged |
