I don't like valintine's day...in my whole 16 years, i've only had one girlfriend on that cursed holiday...and she was just a slutty mall girl...and now she lives in Reno, whereas, i'm in southern cali...damn this stupid holiday...damn it all to hell. Valentine's day is a scam anyway -- it's just an excuse to make people feel guilty for not buying cards and chocolate. I'm currently in a relatioship with a woman who doesn't believe in Valentine's Day either. You have no idea what a relief it is. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Thanks Insomnia! I wish you a very Happy Valentine's Day. How I envy you, being 16 at this time in history and living in Southern California. Millions of people in the world would trade places with you in a nano-second.  I used to hate Valentine's Day, with a passion. I thought it was stupid, cheesy attempt at boosting post-Christmas sales. Even if you have a boyfriend or girlfriend you'll always see couples who are more beautiful than you, more in-love, more romantically-charged on this holiday. In the last few years, I mellowed towards this holiday because I celebrate with the folks I've come to admire and cherish here on this website. Call it maudlin, but I love you guys and gals! You know if I were a guy on Valentine's day and single you know what I'd do? I'd buy two dozen roses and hand one out to each girl that strikes my fancy, on the street, the subway, the mall, at work, at school. Kind of like a drive-by Valentines. I tell ya, the girls would love it, it would totally make someone's Valentine's Day if they're lonely and a nice stranger would give you a Valentines Day rose. You'd remember it for years! OK, Valentines day was fun when i was like in second grade and got tons of sugar. But now that i think about it, it was the sugar i got that i liked about it. Other wise i see this as just what it is, another marketing gimik. I refuse to celerbrate it, or find some girl to spend it with. But hey, if you give me free candy i am happy. Valentine's Day is heart-broke. I never remmy my whole life. It happen to me several time - pain memories, I have. I was eating valintine's dinner with my family tonight and i saw this one nice-looking girl and we got to talking...and we decided to go out and break up at midnight. Well, I can certainly empathize with those people without a lover on V-Day, but... It takes quite a bit to maintain a relationship, and for every moment of joy there's some hours of trying to provide comfort. The more complex your beloved is, the more time will be spent taking care of them. Then again, it's not like this is a chore, when it works right. I like Nitrozac's idea...
