Wow. With over 60 years of stories, you ask which are the best stories? Crossovers, multi-issue or one story? Any particular subjects?

Really tough call. I'd say _Kingdom Come_ but it's mroe of a DC universe story rather than just a Superman story. However, I do know that my favorite cover ever can be seen here

Man of Steel 1-6 by John Byrne. Nice revamp of a great hero. Also, I believe there was a recent one (Superman #776) in which he takes on a group of "superheros" the are Authority-like and shows them that despite their tactics, the traditional methods still work best.

Id have to say, Kingdom come, the nail, are the two bes current universe stories, however one of my favs is the one from a few years back, called What ever happened to the Man of Steel, its a nice old style DC story, and dont jump to conclusions its not your average happy sappy everybody gets a hostess fruit pie story either its got some meat on its fluff
