maybe Paul uses erasable pens on his math. As for me, i like to use my pink pen for all my in class work, and a blue one for homework. I also only use pencils if it is one of those blasted scan trons.

Algebra may be fun, but it's nothing compared to Geometry.
Shapes, theorems, postulates and...ahhhh, protractors. What else could you want.
Gosh darn you Waldo,
Stop bad mouthing pens, If I didn't have my pens I don't know what I would do...
I hate the sound of lead scratching on paper, its worse than nails on a chalkboar. Well, actually, way worse because I kind of like the sound of nails on a chalkboard. TMI
Well anyways, pens are great. If you really love your algebra, you would treat it to a nice day of pen writing rather than pencil. And just think, no more annoying pieces of eraser rub offs on your paper.
Well

It does not look like a purse but from what I have observed it has pretty much the same things as a woman carries in her purse. Fingernail clippers, pens, pencils, small calculater, small pads of paper, candy, floppy discs, 7 gaming CDs so I can install my favorite games wherever I go, dice, day planner, small package of toilet paper. Well It also functions as a book bag for school. It is about briefcase size so it looks masculen(sp) Well I have to run to class now so I will load up me "purse" and go now.

wow sounds like what i cary around cept mines brown....and i dont cary toilet paper...i go by the philosophy of my favorite book, the hitchhikers guiede to the galaxy, and a series ive based some of my philosophies on(the hitchhikers guide to the universe) ill quote one here

a towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of santraginus V; you can sleep under it beneath teh stars; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for hand to hand combat; you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.
Most importantly, a towel has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag (strag: nonhitchhiker) discovers that a hitchhiker has his towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of a toothbrush, washcloth, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet-weather gear, etc., etc. Furthermore, the strag will then happily lend the hitchhiker any of these or a dozen other items that the hitchhiker might accidentally have "lost"

may sound kinda odd but i actually cary a handtowel around in my bag.....just cause...for those of you who have never read the hitchhikers books...look up everything douglas adams has ever written its all hilarious....best writer ever

How nifty! I carry a handetowel, too! Crike! Plus, I have my own first-aid kit...yeppers, me own stash of band-aids, creams, anticeptics, etc... Oh! And I have pills for my buddies such as Pepto Bismol (well, ya never know!), decongestant, and ones for headaches. Plus, a gas-mask...(my mom makes me carry this, heh :-/)

I also have a cute little mini-stapeler, 3 rulers, white-out (in all three forms: bottle, tape, and pen )2 compasses, and the best damned calculator that I can believably 'type on' faster than a real computer! HA! How funny...

Small box
Big pants....
How strange.
G2g,
Geez Louise people, just how baggy are your pants?
I like tight fitting flares, I keep my pens and calculators in my bag. Back pack, or whatever I have with me at the time. I used to keep pens in my pocket until I had one in their at the fair, and when I got off the zipper, it was all broken and inky in my pocket. My leg was blue for a week.
Well that's about it...
Gotta go and meddle in the menial existence of my existential life.

My theory: If you are at this website, you are, in some manner or respect, a geek (I hope no one already said that).
And besides, I play the trombone (although that just makes me a band geek) and I fish, ski, and wander the woods seeking adventure (that comes from the scotsman in me).

I always carry a cheap .5 Zebra (M-301) pencil and a cheaper draft line .9 in the putside breast pocket of my brown false-swuade sports coat, and a tiny neat notbook in the lower pockets of it. I also happen to carry a complete computer repair toolset (screw drivers, micro chip tools and sodering iron ect.) and crew carrying case (as well as my laptop, now that it has an OS again) in my Expressions bag with all my books.

Sorry to double post but a new thought just struck me... Something like this has to exsist (somewhere) a pencil/pen/tool kit... I was looking (again) for graphite holders as I am still looking for the perfect one. It suddenly hit me, that it wouldn't be hard to have a single shaft that could be fitted with:

1.) standard pen nibs and ink tubes
2.) 33mm lead
3.) .9 .7 and/or .5 lead
4.) screw driver heads
5.) X-acto and razor blades
6.) needle of various kinds (for micro-chips or art/craft projects)

Figguring that I couldn't have been the only one to think of this, I am not on a quest to find it. If anyone has any idea what this thing would be called, so I can do a google search, or heard of something similar, please post a reply.

Not the best pen(cil) but there is one...
Made by Victorinox, this ultra-sleek, hella-nifty pocket knife is the perfect tool for all the right reasons. How many knifes out there have a DIP switch setter AND come with torx bits? Very few, my fellow geek, very few indeed... (from think geek)

Goodness Sakes Alive!!!
haven't you guys ever heard of back packs!
Besides, all the cute jeans and stuff either have no pockets or have tiny, tiny little pockets that you can barely fit anything into!
I don't know what type of pants you guys have, that's why I carry a bag thing with me where-ever I go.
I usually always have:
1) My wallette, I almost always need money
2) Hand Lotion (I hate it when you have to dance with people who have yucky dry hands! I try to set a good example)
3) Lip stuff that I never use
4) A couple of pens (No pencils for me! Wood is so sad! I hate it)
5) Hand Sanitizer (I don't know why, I never use it anyways. I just wash my hands with soap.)
6) My Calculator, I take my non scientific one with me, which is bad because what if I needed to find our the circumference of a circle? But that's why I hang out with Wendy, or Twinkle Toes.
7) My book (Not always, but if I get bored waiting in line I like to read stuff. Signs get so boring after a while)
8) Broken Pieces of Jewelry I keep forgetting to take out (It's like a graveyard for pretty things. I really should stop buying stuff from claire's.)
9) My Cell phone (Or electric Leash)
10) My Phone # Book (In case I have to call someone)
11) Tic Tacs ( They taste good, especially the orange ones)
Well that's about it. I really should get some cargo pants or something, but I don't really need any and they weigh oh so much!
Well I have to go and do something, probably.
I love you all, except you, and you, and you...
Just kidding,
Luv,
Clemmie/ Cutie

I'm a supergeek. I write software for a living, write software for a hobby, never got higher than my masters' thesis in math, wrote a Linux book, and have mostly Linux-related shirts in my dresser. I've got an entire shelf full of role playing games. My dream is to work with intelligent robots. I was never popular in high school or college. My social life is basically the pagan community and a few Linux hackers. I haven't had a date in a year. And I'm in terrible shape.

My hobbies? Software, the occult, troublemaking, and guns.

Well? What!?! Somebody has to be a geek here, eh? Eh? Eh?

I could live out of my purse and briefcase. Well, maybe not live... but do anything important I need to.

Briefcase:
2 laptops
Assorted cables
Manuals
Notes/printouts

Purse:
PDA
(occasionally cradle for PDA)
Pager
Checkbook
Plastic
Barnes & Noble card
An indeterminate number of cards for a local coffee house that they punch and eventualy you get a free coffee. I never actually use them, I just keep them for the day I go in and order a quad espresso and realize I have no money in my purse.
Lots of spare change
Drugs (i.e. aspirin, dayquil, that kind of stuff)
Leatherman
Static strip
Bolts
Assorted adapters
Very Important Post It Notes
Some sort of energy drink
Multivitamins
Nifty Metric Conversion pen
Cable ties
Other odds and ends

------------------------

Who are you calling not a geek Maxomai? :P

I thought it was predominantly geeks around here. And maybe some geek groupies. (Do geeks even get groupies?) Oh well, I have been a bit distracted lately what with life insisting on *happening* so maybe things have changed and I didn't notice.

Oh right, on topic...

I used to write software for a living, now I'm a general network/tech support/and occasionally software writing bitch for a call center. Current hobby is getting my own little lan consisting of mostly ancient hardware up and running... well except I keep being distracted by the allure of Age of Empires 2. I haven't written any books. Which one did you write? I can always use more reading material. I'm still working on my B.S., except now it's in security systems instead of comp sci. Unfortunately there isn't much in my dresser right now, mostly it's piled in laundry baskets awaiting my getting the initiative to venture out to the laundrymat. I'm afraid I no longer have a shelf of role playing games, however in my time I've probably spent hundreds of hours sitting on people's living room floors in the middle of the night and having entire serious conversations about what should be done about the impending threat of invasion by the goblin army of doom, etc. Right now my dream is to get more than 4 hours of sleep a night, and to not make myself physically ill by the time I get my vacation at the beginning of August. My social life consists of work. I never noticed if I was popular or not in school, so that is probably a no, and I don't remember when my last date was.

Hobbies... you have hobbies? I call mine that in polite company, but I am honest with myself and just admit they are obsessions.
