So I was walking in a Kmart today after an unsuccesful attempt to find a Todd McFarlene Venom to go with the Spiderman on top of my moniter, and I saw an add for blue Pepsi. I must ask, why do the cola companies feel the need to turn my favourite drinks different colours? It started with the clear Pepsi, continued with red Mountain Dew, and red Dr. Pepper too, and now this. I cannot take anymore. Someone please stop the madness before Sprite decides to become purple! ------------------ IP: Logged |

It's supposed to be a blueberry/cola flavor. I have very little hope that it will be tasty. Vanilla Coke is better at Frisch's. Update I just tried to find info about this crime against Cola and the company's website showed nothing. I smell a cover-up. IP: Logged |

Not to mention Green or purple Catsup or Ketchup or how ever you say or spell it......I cannot bear to even think of eating anything other then the old school red stuff (although I am sure it contains as many dyes as the new colours) ------------------ IP: Logged |

Yeah, I forgot to mention the Catsup thing. That just totally weirded me out. What's next, a spicy brown mustard? Oh, wait a minute! That's the only real good color change I can think of! ------------------ IP: Logged |

i don't think that they are avail. nationally, but in the north east here, some places have "tommy's naked soda" or something like that... all of the sodas are clear, they don't have any "caramel color" or FD&C Blue #3 or whatever, they're okk, though the orange soda is a bit tasteles..... vanilla coke is bad, but when it's made not in a plant, but when the guy in the diner takes vanilla flavouring and mixes it into regular coke, it's good-vanilla coke tastes like creme soda ------------------ IP: Logged |

I tried the red dr pepper but it just tasted like watered down dr pepper. Tried the vanilla coke and it was too artificially vanilla. I'm a sucker for something new. Haven't tried the red mt dew. I can't take that much caffeine at once. Remember crystal pepsi? IP: Logged |

What's the difference between the Red Mt Dew and regular. Is it actually a different flavour or is it just a different colour ? I have to import my Mountain Dew, being in the Dew-less UK (thanks to www.cybercandy.co.uk ) although it costs a packet (about 1 a can) so I just order a crate every few months. IP: Logged |

Crystal Pepsi.... I don't remember what it tasted like, but I do remember that the reaction I got from drinking it was similar to throwing rocket fuel on a fire. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Speaking about Mountian Dew.....In Canada, it is illegal to add caffine (who knows why) to a non-cola drink, so our Dew is lame-o. We actually have to smuggle the 'good Dew' in from Alaska. Kinda like how the Americans come to Canada to drink/buy real beer..... ------------------ IP: Logged |

the red mountain dew tastes kinda like ruby red squirt if you ask me...personally I prefer the good ol' original, tastes better...though while I'm on the topic of red dew, they decided to make it red because their studies show that the african-american minority are drawn to the color red...thats why the red dew comercials are always black people, while green are both black and white...and then theres the old arguement that the yellow die in mountain dew would cause impotency in males, there was a press release about it a while back that I read that catagorically denied that it did that 'anymore'... Yes, but does blue Pepsi mix with anything? I mean, who ever heard of a Rum and Pepsi? No, it's Rum and Coke! Needless to say, this bias would mean that I have rarely ever had Pepsi. Although, for one brief moment, I was consumed by thirst and the only thing available was Pepsi with a Twist. Yup, lemon Pepsi. Wierd. Now Cherry Coke is a thing of beauty. And Mountain Dew mixes really well with Rye. Trust me. And here in Canada, your adrenal system doesn't get too mixed up..stimulant, depressant, stimulant, depressant... ------------------ IP: Logged |

What is with the world today??? Chocolate tacos, Mini-Burritos, Cheese in a can?!?!?! What the H*ll is everyones problem... If it was good in the first place don't mess with it! I love my Diet Pepsi (3 cans a day keeps the doctor away...and sleep too, can't go to sleep, musn't go to sleep, clowns will eat me!) And if any one tries to mess with it (Including Austin Powers, or Britney Spears) I'll hit them in the head with a carton of milk! That'll show 'em! ~Clemmie! ------------------ IP: Logged |

quote:*GASP* How can you mention HER name in these forums, Clemmie!? Damnit, Clemmie... ! You're one sick melon! But Austin Powers is fine with me. I heard he wasn't too happy with Beyonce's 'acting performance.' I dun really give a dingle, seeing that I don't like 'their' (as in the Destiny's Child clan *shudder*) music and thus her (1/2 the reason). Now *I* don't even like vanilla anything, so I wouldn't drink Vanilla Coke [if I DID drink Coke]. Anywho, if I do drink a type of soft drink, it's either Big Red, Barq's (or some other root beer brand), or Dr. Pepper. Even though I don't drink them too often, I also like Squirt, Mt. Dew (the red kind more than the original), and Sprite (heeh, "7-UP YOURS." Oh those funny commercials...). One thing that I never understood was why Dr. Pepper isn't considered root beer. I can't taste the difference. But that shouldn't really account for much. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Last year I used to buy a bottle of soda everyday most of the time I didn't have my backpack with me(this is at a highschool), or just forgot that I still had some of a soda in my bag...well, one day in english I was talking with some friends and I started getting out my bottles to see what I had. I had a strawberry passion awarness fruitopia, a mountain dew, and a strawberry soda. I also had a water bottle with some sparkling apple cider in it(dun ask why its a long story). Well the apple cider was just a tiny bit in the bottom, so my friend took it and mixed them all together in certain amounts(apparently he'd done this before) and the combination was the best tasting drink I've had in a long time...the most amazing part was after you swallowed you tasted apple...oh, and the blue pepsi is supposed to be blueberry.. I've got a blue pepsi right here...I think I can safely say it's one of the most disgusting things I've ever tasted...tastes like crap when you first drink it, then has a worse aftertaste...if you want to know what it's like binge on blueberrys, wait about 20 minutes, then force yourself to puke them up, and thats about what it'd taste like... It is really a plot of THEIRS. i think that they are going to try and weaken the freewill of cola drinker, with this new "BLUE" cola. That is the only solution. THEY are up to something. whatever you do, don't drink it, don't buy, it, and stay as far away from it as you can. Nayt ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hee-be-jeezus, sometimes I'm really glad I don't live in America. It's far easier over here in the UK to decide what to drink... Pepsi, Coke, Tango, Lilt, Sprite... that's it. And most people can't be bothered so just drink Ribena instead And the colours are all pretty normal. The only weird drink we ever had over here was Tab-Clear. Man, I miss that... sky ------------------ IP: Logged |

quote: Wow, they made clear pink-stuff?(inside joke).....eeh, that sounds fairly limiting Sky, personally I like choices, though they aren't hard to make, basically you have 6-7 main flavors then about 5-6 different brands of each in every store, just pick the cheapest of your favorites, and there ya go...at least, thats how I do it, and added to those main flavors are some specialty ones that usually can only be gotten in certain areas, or are expesive...man, it is a bit more complicated here ain't it, hehe ------------------ IP: Logged |

let me ask you, my fellow geeks, a question: What do you get when you add a highly sweetened carbonated beverage in an airtight container+a freezer=??...eh? any guesses? Well I'll tell you. Tonight, my mom, in her ever increasing brilliance(sarcasm for those who can't tell..)decided "well, if it tastes like a melted slushie, lets freeze it untill it's slush and see if it tastes better!" Well, I'm happy to say I was behind her far enough to avoid the blue slush that flew all over the kitchen. It was all over the walls, the sink, the counter, coffee pots, toaster, microwave, cieling, window, floor....it was funny as hell to watch, and the best part of it is hat the ice and slush left in the bottle tasted WORSE than it did just cold out of the fridge, hahahaha! I was referring to Blue Pepsi. Vanilla Coke I describe as "uninteresting". Yes, I do know what happens to a soda in a freezer. In my case, an IBC Root Beer. My wife had just brought home a case, and she decided to put one in the freezer to cool it down quickly for me to enjoy sooner. It was sufficiently viscous when the glass bottle burst, combined with glass bottles having a weak point that buckles before the rest of the bottle, and it was a relatively controlled mess. There was some root beer & glass on the walls of the freezer, but most of it was in a frozen puddle about a foot across. ------------------ IP: Logged |
