I have several reasons for asking, and I have several things to ask. Ghosts, spirts, souls, deamonds and angels appear in religons from all over the globe. I don't know of a religon that doesn't have an old exorsism on the record somewhere... I am sure there is one, but I haven't found it. I am looking for persoanl ghost stories that happened to you, that you witnessed with your own eyes. I don't want the urban legends that you didn't confirm, but I will take "My friend saw...., and we went back and there was..." I want TRUE ghost stories, and the location of the happenings (if at all possible). I have a few of my own and will post them, but I want to post the records of the accounts that I wrote just after (at least wenever possible) the event, or at least look at notes that I took just after. What I am looking for are complete stories that include anything that could have been an alterior causes (like the influence of alcohol, or the mirror playing tricks of light). I am begging you all for these stories, if you have them. There is something that I have to know, and these stories will help a lot. Links to EMPs and photos that you personally had a hand would be appreciated. I am asking for a unique reason, that I will disclose in my post with my true stories. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I've only had one ghostly encounter, and I'm not convinced it was really a ghost, though I DO believe in ghosts, ghouls, deamons, angels, etc etc etc. when I was 9 I visited my aunt and uncle. My uncle was away at work, it was 9pm and me my brother and my aunt were all sitting whatching some comedy movie, don't remember what it was, but we were all just cracking up, having a good time, and then it hit a dull in the funny and we all stopped laughing, and we heard water running....faucet was on upstairs...now, I was the one who went up and shut it off, so I know it was off...I went back down, and started whatching the movie again...after it was over the water was on again...once again I shut it off, cuase my aunt thought I was being stupid and didn't shut it off the first time...well, later, when it was time for bed, and as such, time to brush my teeth, the water wouldn't turn on...I turned on the faucet, but the water wouldn't come out...I went to go brush my teeth in the downstairs bathroom and it suddenly came on...damnedest thing...anywho, it started to piss me off, cause it happened a couple times, it'd come back on and I'd start to go back and it'd shut off again...well, I finaly gave up and went downstairs to brush my teeth, and went to bed....well, next morning woke up to find the sing overflowing and water running down the stairs....and the faucet wouldn't turn on again...my uncle called his landlord to have him take a look at the faucet, and apparantly the water was supposed to have been shut off to the house that entire night for some pipe work, and no water should have been flowing ANYWHERE in the house...as I said, I'm not sure I beleive it...I believe it's possible, but I also believe my uncle would do anything to play a trick on me....ah, but that's my story...sucked didn't it..heh...I've got a nice story as to why I believe in god, angels, and the like, but I'll save that for the "is there a god" topic ------------------ IP: Logged |

<<< I'm sorry I forgot to post this earlier, GM... eh, oh well. I dunno if it'll help you now>>> We had this old barn that we used just for recreation if it was raining or something outside... SO, one day, one of my counselors told me to go up to the attic and get a ball.. I think.. so she could put it with the rest of the balls and crap in a closet.. ANYWHO, it was really dark when I went up there.. it didn't look too bad because it wasn't bare... there was still some toys and the like everywhere. Then I saw him in the back, the darkest corners of the barn attic. I'd actually seen him some other times hanging around the campgrounds... well the ball I needed to bring back was almost right next to him... he just stood there, leaning on the wall grinning at me (I think he was about 16 or 17) I started walking over to it and him very slowly. Because, for one, I was a bit scared but at the same time, I was excited about seeing him again and didn't want to scare him... so when I got to the ball, I stood infront of him, staring him in the eye without any expression on me face... then I bent down to grab the ball, keeping my eyes on him. He bent down to my level and was very close to me... I had on hand on the ball and he put his on mine. I was so freaked out by what he'd done but I didn't want him to leave... so he and I both rose still looking in each other's eyes... his were very creepy, looking a bit red (the actual color). He was, the whole time, giving me that evil grin... that's why I'm not really sure he was a 'good ghost', heh... anywho, I starting walking backwards, leaving him... my legs actually felt a bit numb doing it. He vanished and I met the door.. when I turned to face it, I looked down at the doorknob.... I swear to god, it was covered in blood.. I wasn't touching it but I was about to.. then I felt like he was creeping up on me. I suddenly came to my senses because I had just been frozen all that time. I blinked and the blood disappeared. I threw the door open and ran quickly down the stairs. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I suppose I should post some of mine, as I promised. Thank you twink. I guess the first one was this one, I was about 10 or so..... We'd just moved one house over(read: moved next door to where we were), because the owner wanted to turn the housewe moved out of into a one family. The girl who lived there (the owners daughter - my age) was in the house playing with another of my friends, and me and another friend (the first friends daugther) came running out of the house terrifies. As it turns out the water was turning on and off and the worker's drill was running (this was 2 stories aove them (they in the basemet and the drill and water in the empty 2nd story). So they got the keys to the upstairs and we all went back in (except one of the girls who came running out, because she was freaked), and the drill was on it's charger (not plugged in) and the batteries were dead and the water was off, but the tub (that hadn't been used in weeks) was wet... When I was about 23(and much more fearless), I went to a very old small graveyard up in the mountains in Colorado(Central City, an old mining town)that was supposed to be haunted,on Halloween. I waited all night-no ghosts. **sigh** IP: Logged |

Sorry to hear that, but I've always wondered why people would be bound to a grave yard, seems one of the last places I'd hang out.... If I were dead. IP: Logged |

Never seen a ghost while awake, but... One night, in the summer of my 18th year between graduation from high school and departation to college, I had a very clear, vivid dream. Such a fact is in and of itself fairly rare for me, but this particular dream was so real it could have been real. I was walking through my house, and it was dark, but I could still see just fine. Not like night vision, exactly; more like what I think a cat sees when it's night time. I walked down the stairs from my room, through the kitchen into the family room, and opened the door to the garage. The garage at that time was a cluttered storage area for stuff we didn't want to get rid of but didn't have any immediate use for. Despite that, I was able to navigate without thinking to the rear corner, where my dad kept his tools. There was a powerfully white light eminating from the corner, so bright that it obscured the tools my father kept there. Though I never saw a physical apparition or form, I knew without question that it was my great grandfather, who was dead for several decaded by the time I was born. Though I don't remember hearing any words, I remember him somehow communicating to me that he'd just come to visit, sort of check up on me, and let me know that I was doing fine, and he was proud of me. My mother, who knew her grandfather only a little, later confirmed that he was a renound handyman, for whom tools were an integral part of life. This is information I had not had prior to having the dream. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I went to a carnival one night many years ago and there was this wierd glowing ghost-robot running around and scaring off all of the customers. Fortunately, Scooby Doo and the gang showed up and we found out that it was really Ringmaster Bailey trying to run the carny down so he could buy it cheap. And he would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for those meddling kids... ------------------ IP: Logged |

*sigh* graveyards are not scary sadly...though the story reminds me of what happened last haloween...two guys (one of whom I know) dressed in white sheets a'la the old cheap way of dressing like a ghost, and carried big white unmarked sacks of flour, and had in big black letters on their chests: ANTHRAX ....they ran around throwing flour at people for a few hours, then they were arrested and held for two days..heh...not really 'on topic' but I just thought of it when snup mentioned haloween, and the fact that I live two blocks from a graveyard, which is the area the two guys were at when this all occured... ------------------ IP: Logged |

I have two ghost stories... One I experienced, and one my dad told me about. When I was about 7 I was sleeping over at a friend's house, the smoke alarm went off and woke us up, and my friends dad came by and told us that it was ok, it was just the syrup they were boiling down overflowing the pot (they made syrup from maple sap, it was cool!) We couldn't go back to sleep, so we were going to ask her parents for a drink of water, (this was only a couple minutes later) We walked down the hall to her parents room and the door was locked, but their door doesn't have a lock... so we walked around to the living room to get into the kitchen and there were two figures sitting on the couch that looked like an adult reading a book to a child.. we turned around and ran back to my friends room and something followed us back and turned into her little brothers room right before our room.. i dont' think we slept the rest of that night... My dad's story was a bit more tangible.. My dad was about 8. My grandmother likes to make beds really really really tight... so tight that kicking off the covers is a workout as an adult.. My dad somehow got turned around under his covers and was stuck at the foot of the bed.. he woke up because he was having trouble breathing... just as he began to think he was going to pass out, someone pulled the covers off and told him it would be alright... He figured it was his dad, even though it sounded like his grandfather. (who had been dead for exactly a year although he didn't know it at the time) The next morning he asked his parents if anyone had come into his room last night, and they said no. When he went downstairs he saw the yurtzite candle was lit (jewish tradition to light a candle on the anniversary of a death) so my dad believes in ghosts.. which is funny, because he claims he doesn't believe in god.... quote:How can you believe in angels and a supreme being such as 'god' if you don't believe in ghosts? Ghosts are people's spirits who have crossed over and are no longer living and instead are wandering the Earth. There is more proof of ghosts (even VISUAL evidence!) that is more believable than any backing 'god'. That just doesn't make sense, Jas. You can even communicate directly with ghosts, which you can't do with 'god' - you CAN, but it's not the same and not even as upfront. So my point still stands. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Jas, if you saw half of what I have you'd believe. I still have a lot more of my own person expierences to post, but before I do I'd like to add. What is the difference between an angel and a ghost? If you believe in satan, and believe that satan is powerful, are you not glorifing the darker side of man kind? Anywho, I will be back here with more of strange happening when the mood strikes me. I'd say that the difference between an angel and a ghost would be that angels have always been spirits and ghosts are people that have died and stuck around...honestly though, it could be that angels are merely ghosts who have devoted themselves to protecting people, helping them when they can, and regular 'ghosts' are ghosts that play harmless jokes or 'visit' people, while what is referred to as 'demons' are ghosts that devote themselves to evil practices...ciao IP: Logged |
