Okay, seeing as the last Bumper Stickers thread was stolen, and it appears that lots of people (including myself) are in support of having GC bumper stickers, I decided to start another topic dedicated to the idea of Geek Culture Bumper Stickers. So, post away, let N & S know that we think this is a good idea. I personally would love to see a "Geekier Then Thou" bumper sticker. Oh, and while I'm on the topic of bumper stickers, allow me to remind everyone that bumper stickers arn't just good for bumpers, they look great on laptops too!

Quite a highway robbery that was too... As for the real issue at hand ideas for bumper stickers:
1.) The GC ussaly TTB, AY2K
2.) Beware of Geeks bareing Gifs
3.) If you could do it without pushing copyright laws get Tux eating an Apple(the old Apple logo).
4.) Think Geek, it pays.

Hmmmmm.... Can't think of much that'd fit on bumper sticker.

There's one idea, and, BTW, this is now offically covered by the GNU GPL, have fun with it, do what you want. Now I shall list more ideas (careful, some of these have a great potential for suckability):
Perhaps make a special sticker just for SuperFans, nothing too fancy, but you could just have it say SUPERFAN! or "OFFICAL SUPERFAN!" with a little "www.geekculture.com" underneith.
"Geeks make better lovers."
"Keep on geekin'" (that may be already made my ThinkGeek)
"Born Geeky!"
"Bandwidth is sexy!" written big, and in smaller print underneith, "...and I have a T1"
"I'll show you my motherboard if you'll show me your hard drive." (perhaps a little long for a bumper sticker?)
"I'd rather be behind my keyboard then behind the wheel."
"Hack the Gibson!" (if you don't get this, cross reference the movie Hackers)
"My OTHER computer is a server!"
"I have a keyboard, and I know how to use it!"
"UNIX for stability, Macintosh for useability, Windows for solitare."
"My computer isn't the only thing I can turn on! ;-)"
"When I turn on my computer, it returns the favor."
"My hard drive is bigger then yours!"
"Oooh what does this button do?" (to steal one from EngrBohn)
"Have you surfed the web today?"
"01000110 01010101 01000011 01001011 00100000 01011001 01001111 01010101 00100001" (take it, convert to base 10, get out your ASCII code chart and figure it out, and post your findings if you wish)
"But my mom says glasses are cool!"
"Once a geek, always a geek." (that was too easy)
"Geek. n. A person of supirior intelligence. Genius."
"It's 12 o'clock, do you know where your geek is?"
"I'd rather be fragging."
"Come to the Geek Side!"
"Send me an E-Mail!"
"So, can I have your E-Mail address?"
"All jocks think about is sports. All geeks think about is sex!" (Perhaps you should check copyrights from Revenge of the Nerds)
"One geek's Recycle Bin is another geek's My Documents."
"All we are saying, is give geeks a chance!"
"Keep your hands off my mouse!"

Wow, that's quite a list. Then again, a lot of those suck, then again, some don't. Well, my creative juices have run dry (for now). Oh, almost forgot, I need to put in one last plug/vote for a "Geekier then thou!" bumper sticker. That would defanately be the one that I'd buy!

- MacManKrisK -
"Oooh what does this button do?" (to steal one from EngrBohn)

Well, to be fair, I stole it from someplace else.

"I have a keyboard, and I know how to use it!"

Hmm. I like. Better yet, "I have a keyboard, and I'm not afraid to use it!"

How's this one:
"Unix, because the three-finger salute is a four-letter word."

Newbie alert. Usually I just lurk on these forums but I couldn't pass up an opportunity like this. My suggestion: "Don't blame me, I voted for Jobs."

It would perfectly compliment my "Don't blame me, I voted for Zappa" sticker. And so few people would get it! Hooboy.

Man, I knew if I finally registered I'd end up posting...

Okay, how about some GirlGeek bumper stickers? I was just over at ThinkGeek wishing they had shirts like

<shegeek> on front </shegeek> on back
"No, I don't type"
"Being a geek means never having to get someone else's coffee"
"Become the geek your mother wanted you to marry"
and
"CodeBi**h"

Howza bout a nice "Mac Genius" bumper sticker, with a big black space between the "Mac" and "Genius".
(Clear atomic logo stickers sold separately.)

I like the quote from Douglas Adams that says something like: "There are many millions of Windows users and many millions of cockroaches. Quantity doesn't equate to a higher form of life." I'm sure somebody has the accurate quote somewhere.

I <heart> Nitrozac.
(Sorry Snaggy, you're not my type)

Fight viruses, replace Windows with UNIX!
Fight viruses, replace Windows with Linux!

I'm a perfect X and so is my OS.

(okay, so it's not computer related, but those who like to solve little challenges will like it.)

I love the first line, but the second line is a little....well, I'll just say it's not really "me." If I may, allow me to suggest a few other second lines.

I'm a geek, and my code is right!
I'm a geek, and that's alright!
I'm a geek, and I'm alright!
I'm a geek, who can't rhyme! (Odd irony......)
I'm a geek, who doesn't fight!
I'm a geek, ya' wanna fight?
Keep on geekin' with all your might!
UNIX doesn't cause me fright!
If you get it, you're alright!
I'm 31337, I know I'm right!
If you don't get it, that's alright!
I'm a geek, it's code I write!
I'm a geek, hack I might!
I'm a geek, so run in fright!
I'm a geek that's outa' sight!
I'm a geek, go fly a kite!

Alright, that's all I've got for now, again, as always, some of those suck, just pay attention to the cool ones!

Just a thought... some people may not dig the idea of semipermanently adhering something to their car (though admittedly I'm not one of those people.) What about the vinyl window clings? That would make them easy to remove if someone drives a leased vehicle or something like that.

MacManKrisK, you're right. The second line sucks, but I couldn't think of anything better. I was trying to stick to the typical "All for xxx, stand up and shout!" (or "All for xxx, stand up and say so!") line, but the best I could do was "All for xxx, shout 'all right!'", and that sucked too. So I tried to come up with something else, such as "If Quake's better than sex, let's fight!", and that probably wouldn't go over well on a bumper sticker.

I think you've hit the nail on the head with:
Two bits, four bits, six bits, a byte!
I'm a geek, who can't rhyme!

SupportGoddess, good idea with the vinyl clingon.

I really like the first line too, and I'm not crazy about the ryhm it reminds me too much of an old "roses are red" that I heard... I like the ones about the code being "tight" or "alright... I personally like tight because norms will think we mean "tight" like "Dude, that new song is tight!" and all geeks wll know that it means something completly diffrent. I was going to say I like the idea of girl geek merchandise, but then I remebered why my mother would never join the "Society for Women Engineers" which she said, quite plainly, "I didn't study Women Enginnering, I studied Civil Engineering." I think that seperetist thinking only points out that there is an inequality in the land of geeks and that will drive a lot of people to think that female geeks aren't wanted... When, in fact, female geeks are quite welcome, highly sought after and worshiped people in the geek/nerd society. My first thought was that the geek merchindise would make them easier to find, but that would also make them become taken a lot sooner.

Of course, again I am probably overthinking this and thusly, should digress.
