How much beer did it take to build the egyptian pyramids (cheops, chefren, mycerinus)? I mean, considering all the workers quarrying the stone, bringing it to the pyramids, the artisans, etc. IP: Logged |

Lots. Did you know the egyptian word for beer was kasha? And they paid the workers with beer. Hence the word cash. Also, the oldest known writing is an egyptian recipe for beer. Beer- the cause and the solution for all the worlds problems IP: Logged |

I dunno, it wouldn't suprise me. As it's made from oats/wheat/barley/whatever. I should really know as I did a bit of russian a while back. My favourite word was <attempting in wrong alphabet> dostoprimilchechilnosti </the horror> which is the word for sights. The words for bread and beer are also quite commonly the same, beer has often been known as liquid bread. Also it is thought that the reason people first stopped the nomadic lifestyle and started cultivating crops, it was to make beer. IP: Logged |
