Anything from Tim Horton's - of which there are NONE in the U.K. :-(

There was one called a 'Dutchy' if I remember correctly - they were nice (especially if you pass it on the left hand side!)

After a decade of living in the South, I've been assimilated: I love Krispy Kremes. The chocolate frosted w/o filling are my favorites.

I spent a week driving around Nova Scotia last summer, and I must agree, Tim Horton's rocks. Their coffee was pretty good too.

to me, these are a close second to their bavarian cremes. the boston chocolate paired with filling is a little overwhelming on the taste buds, while the bavarian creme has /just/ the right balance of powdered sugar and pure artery-clogging filling.

Ordinary glazed donuts from Krispy Kreme are just fine by me. (Or LaMar's, another donut shop we have around here. A coworker and I once ran a taste test between the two, and they came out pretty even. LaMar's donuts are bigger and fluffier, though.)

From an ordinary donut shop like Winchell's or the King Soopers bakery, I usually get a cinnamon roll.

Oh damn, now I'm getting hungry.

Will you guys stop it, doughnut are a nono as far as I am concerned, snif!

Actually I was quite impressed by the Krispy Kreme's site, with the nutritional information on their doughnuts which means I could calculate them into my diet
(Like, try one a week)

This morning I went to a seminar on making online learning more interactive, and the dept. putting on the workshop provided two [b]huge[\b] platters of Krispy Kremes, all kinds. Yum! The doughnuts were so good and the speaker was so entertaining, I almost didn't mind that 90% of the information in the seminar was totally useless to me.

You gotta watch those Krispy Kremes. They're about as addictive as "Ben & Jerry's Crack'n'Tobacco Crunch." They're more insidious than a Microsoft EULA. Once down the path of Krispy Kreme you start, forever will it dominate your destiny.

My dog's favorite type of donut is "somebody else's".

This led to an obvious way to force her to get some exercise. Give my toddler (who loves little more than running circuits around the house) a donut, and sure enough, she starts chasing after the donutelope.

I've never met a donut I didn't like.

I find I'm not too crazy about Krispy Kreme donuts. Too much sugar, I can't taste the donut under the sugar coating. I'll eat them, but I won't go out of my way for them

Give me Dunkin' Donuts, any time.

Cruellers, Maple bars, Maple iced, coconut iced, double chocolate, hell I even like the Dunkin' Donut and the plain cake.

amen to the tim horton's fans, dang I wish we had those in middle america! the muffins... oh, the muffins...

But I love non-timmy donuts too, as long as they don't have anything stuffed inside them but donut. I hate that fruity creamy weird crap people are always ruining donuts with! Just give me a chocolate iced long john or a plain ol' cake donut with chocolate icing or powdered sugar and I'm happy as a clam.

Oh, and you must ingest all donut material with MILK! long live milk!

Personally, I prefer filling-free donuts. In my town, our Cider mill/Vegetable stand just closed after about 50 years of operation, which used to make fresh donuts on the weekend, in hot grease. Those are really good. Additionally, you could watch the dough as it got spit out into the grease as a ring, and formed on one side, and floated in there, with a conveyer belt pulling it along, and then it got flipped, so the other side could 'cook.' I used to go virtually go each weekend, and I would routinely get some [of the donuts] as they came off the line, steaming hot, and wash it down with freshly pressed apple cider.
While that is my first and foremost favorite type of donut, I am also partial to glazed donuts, and recently my little on-campus coffee shop has been offering some of these smalled baked donuts, which are quite good. I have been dunking those in my coffee recently - I feel like I could take over for Wiggum.
