For the last few years I've been working on a PC, and a couple months ago I finally got myself an iBook. And while I can do most of my work just fine, one thing I'm missing is a way to access my ISP's server from my Mac. The server is a Frontpage 2000 server, and on a PC it is accessed through Microsoft's Web Folders. Any way I can access this through my Mac? Thanks in advance, # ps. And while I'm at it, here's a related question: how come there are references on the Microsoft site to PWS for the Mac, yet none apparently available for download? Are there any other cheap/free servers for the Mac which support ASPs? IP: Logged |

Welcome to MacLife, Octothorp! I think what you're probably looking for is Goliath, which is an implementation of WebDAV for the Mac: http://www.webdav.org/goliath/ It's actually also a better way of accessing your Apple iDisk under Mac OS 9 than the iDisk software itself IP: Logged |

OSX also has webdav support and accesses the iDisk with it. But a FrontPage 2000 server? Yeesh. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Doesn't Frontpage still do all that horrible modifiying of all html so it only works with Frontpage rubbish ? And a server with Frontpage extensions on is supposed to be one of the least secure servers going (the extensions are supposedly a godsend for hackers, although some 'professional' qualification of this would be nice to know). God I so miss Powells Technical...I would love to curl up with a cup of coffee and leaf through OS X: The Missing Manual for a few hours on a rainy Sunday (which is about the only kind of Sunday they have in Portland). ------------------ IP: Logged |

I plan to move to Portland. by way, you can use Fetch or you can find several web folder software for Mac OS X. You can test if it work and purchase around $25 http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/networking_security/ wink IP: Logged |

Hey everybody, thanks for your suggestions. I think I'm going with Goliath, as all of the other solutions are for OSX and I'm still kinda anti-aqua. # IP: Logged |
