Hmmm, so I was sitting here wondering, "What are other Geeks fantasies?"......so, what are they?

Have you ever had one of your fantasies come true?

(What can of worms did I just open? :P)

I might post some of mine, but ill feel better if I see yours first.

Right now my fantasy is to win the lottery Wednesday night. A $115M jackpot would make my frustrating job go away in a nanosecond! But, with a 5:41.4M chance of winning, well, it's truely a fantasy.

Have I ever had any of my fantasies come true? Definitely!

All right, the #1 fantasy on my list right now (fortunately I can talk about this one):

That I will fall asleep at night with nothing on my "to do" list. No shopping, no cleaning, no work, no books to catch up on, no e-mail to catch up, nothing. So that I will just wake up tomorrow with nothing hanging over me from the day before.

The last time I fell asleep like that was May 1991.

I fantasize at getting back at all the jerks who have messed me around in my life, by getting very very successful.

Sucessful as in have more money than them, and be happier and healthier, and look better!

It would also help if they were to become unhappy, unhealthy and unwealthy.

Now if only I can do it!!!

Fantasies come true: yes.

Current fantasy: get back my way-cool job at MacAddict

Current second-place fantasy: move away to some wonderous land where I don't have to work and my girlfriend and I don't have to put up with hateful comments from my disapproving family and we can spend each day doing exactly as we please

current third-place fantasy: a good job. ANY good job.

1. Climbing the Ring of Fire. I like volcanoes. They have nice little plateaus on top to sit down and have a snack on.
2. Finding that acetylase I'm looking for and getting published as an undergrad.

Getting a goodnight's sleep sometime before May is also high on my list, as is finding time to actually talk to my faculty advoiser about the mysterious process of applying to grad schools.

My Fantasy:

To travel back in time about 15 years and invest in Microsoft.

Truthfully though, I'd be psyched to get a few grants to get my non-profit off the ground.

A few years without responsibilities would be great too. Then I could climb every day...hmmmm

Oh, dear, which fantasy do I start with?

1. Be an astronaut.
2. Write a best-selling book.
3. Have an awesome, ahead of the times computer setup.
4. Be skinny. I don't care about being model-skinny, I'd just be happy fitting in a size 14.
5. Travel across the globe.
6. Try some extreme sports like sky surfing, snow boarding, ect.
7. Land a computer job.
8. Be a pilot.
9. Go scuba diving.
10. Search for a lost city.
11. Be able to sing really really good.
12. Make lots of money, then pay off all my debts and all the debts of my immediate family members and buy everybody a car, house, and awesome computer setup; then they'll owe me. *WEG*
13. Be stranded on a desert island surrounded by hunky computer geeks wearing nothing but leopard-print loincloths and who run around fetching drinks, CDs, and suntan lotion for me.

Okay, maybe that last one was a little much.

My fantasy?

*To figure out who I really am.
*To not be afraid that my bf is going to leave me.
*To stop worrying that everyone hates me, and secretly wishes I'd go away.
*To know what it feels like to be okay with yourself, faults and all.

Okay, I'm going to go cry now.

My fantasy is to have enough financial security to never have to worry about money again.

I think it's another version of winning the lottery.

Being an astronaut is right up there too.

Getting to know yourself is a lifelong quest. Life is a journey and each of us is a work in progress.

You just got engaged. I can understand that you're doing a lot of thinking about your future and it could all be a bit overwhelming, but you shouldn't be afraid of losing him.

Everybody here likes you and hopes you never leave

It sometimes takes a lot of years and the help of good friends to develop a positive sense of self. Take it from somebody who has been his own worst enemy for longer than I can remember, it's OK to be you. You are unique and special and nobody will ever take that away.

-----
My fantasies would be well on the way to fruition with only two events: finding a woman with the qualities of my best friend with whom there is that magic spark; acquiring a large amount of money in a short period of time. Then the two of us could travel the world, indulge in the latest geek toys and fill our years with satisfying volunteer work.

I want a New Bettle, Red, Black interior, Stick, Dezel

I want an old VW Microbus, Orange

I want a new dual 1Ghz G4 tower with a 22" Apple Studio Display, and everything MAXed out

I want a house of my own, and I want to network it to the hilt (fiber to the desktop!)

I want a T1 line piped into my house

I want to own/operate my own cybercafe

I want AirPort!

Oh yeah, and the REAL long shot....I want a girlfriend!

Some of my own:

To be a little more specific than being an astronaut, I'd like to be on the mission for Mars.

I'd wish someone would find a way to voyage through the stars before I'm dead.

I want to have my house on the 'ruelle des Fortifications' Montreal, Quebec (there are some semi-old buildings, I guess old factories from the first half of the 20th century, five or six storey high. I know *exactly* how to fit it out.)

As an extra, I would like to set up an artificial intelligence research lab on the street level of the previous one.

And that would help me realize my central-AI-controlled rescue robots.

But before than that, I have to get my master and/or PhD.

(Oh well, at least the last one will likely come true before the end of the decade...)

Almost forgot: I'd like to set up a reading club, life-long membership, with a subscription fee of a hard-cover edition of the member's best book.

Enough for now.

Janeway, TechnoGram, and Stereo rock! I want to be an astronaut, too!

But on a more realistic note...

I'd like to get into college / get OUT of high school.

I'd like to get a job, get myself a nice new computer. Preferably a laptop. Preferably a Toshiba.

I'd like to earn my black belt in kung fu! (I'm working on my yellow belt currently... I've got a long way to go)

What do one dream of...
Tricky.
I'll just do the jump and hope to land on my feet.

- pass all of my exams this spring
- not lose my mind while worrying about the future
- finish my novel (and it'll be a bestseller)
- travel around the world without paying for it
- pay off all my student debt at once
- refresh my coding
- learn elvish
- learn latin
- trade some of my fright into guts
- ehm, *whispers* boyfriend?!

I need time to think. Refreshing my coding is always on my mind, it's been too long since I've done any.

But, tempus fugit and mornie alanti...

-Go back and fix my big regrets
-Shiny, new blue Cabrio convertible
-Develop a non-aging formula
-Have a decent relationship with my parents
-Never get sick
......and many many more......but I wont take you there

I want to end up with the girl of my dreams.
I want to be paid to think.
I want to ski in a traveller's cloak.
I want to travel to Ireland and spend a month in the hills.
Still want the girl of my dreams.
I want to see Josh again. And not just his tombstone.

Finish writing a book. Get it published. Win either the Giller prize or Booker. Or both.
Have an off-the-grid home in the north-central BC coastal mountains, accessible by kayak. Big, lush garden.
Until then, I'd settle for financial security.

So many fantasies, so little time. Here are a few of mine:

1. The ablility to understand math.
2. My own private fleet of fighter jets.
3. Getting a call from Steve Jobs saying that I'm now the official test-geek for all of Apple's new computers.
4. To be fabulously rich and not have to do any actual work for the tem of my natural life.
5. To wake up one morning and suddenly have the ability to program.
6. Immortality, or at least until I got bored with living.
7. The abilities of a superhero. (It would be a tossup as to whose abilities those were. Spiderman would probably be the coolest, but I've always admired Cyclops, too. Then again, Wolverine has it pretty well also.)
8. My own private library, containing every book that was ever written.
9. Access to every secret government record imaginable.
10. A girlfriend, one who apreciates me for who I am and who won't get a glazed look in her eyes when I start to talk about the megahertz myth.

The list goes on and on, but those are my top ten for the moment. Of course, I'll probably have a whole new list by the time that I wake up tomorrow.
