Hello world,

can anybody explain to me what "WiFi" stands for, please? Is this the shortform of "wireless firewire"? Than I'm addicted to that too and we'll meet in Hawaii!

Or is it something like "BiFi"?

http://www.bifi.de/intros/intro_1.html

But I didn't get the rest of the joke too. I only got, is has something to do with Apple and networking?

mackevin

p.s.:

I love all JoT's with those nice cloured iBooks - but a 300 Mhz running OS X? Please don't play with the emotions of those with "lowered expectations" .

WiFi = wireless fidelity.

WiFi is an interoperability certification for 802.11b devices. "WiFi" is a brand used by the Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance (WECA) to refer to compliant for IEEE 802.11 products. http://www.wirelessethernet.com/

EEE 802.11 (commonly referred to as "wireless ethernet" and branded as "WiFi") is a set of technology specifications that enable high speed wireless LAN access.

I've never had any trouble reading AY2K or JoT with OSX on my 333MHz machine (Classic apps are another story). What else do you really need to do
