It's one of three machines. A IIcx, a IIci, or a Quadra 700. They all used the same basic form factor, except the Quadra 700 usually stands on end. IP: Logged |

Definitely Quadra 700, or Mac IIcx/ci (same thing, form factor-wise). There's no way to know for sure from this angle. They were all the small box designs, but the Q700 was optimized for standing on it's side. Therefore the feet on the 'side' are really the bottom, and then it's a Q700! Q.E.D. Oh, and Sorry. NOT a Mac II or IIfx. They were much wider/longer. -bd who remembers his Mac IIci, with 33 MHZ '030, 5MB of RAM and a 40MB HD, then his Duo, with the same processor PORTABLE!!!) IP: Logged |

Award Ceremony: Cleophus gets a third of a bonus point. /the crowd cheers/ trecowan gets a full bonus point (for his singularily firm answer). ...and DigitalBill gets a bonus point plus an additional bonus point for his acute observation of the cartoon Quadra 700's feet! IP: Logged |

I hate to rain on the award ceremony but... my IIci has slots for feet in exactly the same position. In fact, said IIci is standing on its side as I type (not on the IIci, thank goodness). Yet another clever Apple design -- you can move the feet to either location for flat or side standing. So, while I'll take your word for it that it IS a 700 in the cartoon, the position of the feet are NOT a definitive distinction. IP: Logged |

Okay, I know I'm late, but late is better than never :P From my personal experience this would be a Q700 running NetBSD, because I have had an aweful time running NetBSD 1.5 because of SCSI espi controller problems on my Q700 with an IBM drive. Therefore a kernel hack would be necessary (but not on a IIci)... IP: Logged |
