SendMeHome!

Andrew Lee and friends just launched their new startup, and I think they've found a winner.
SendMeHome.com is the world's first free lost-and-found web-recovery service. Through the website, users are able to register their personal valuables (like iPhones, iPods, etc, etc) which are each given a unique ID code. The user can then write this code on the item, or print up their own labels, or order professional labels. Should your item ever be lost, the SendMeHome.com website allows anyone who finds the item, communicate anonymously with the owner, in order to arrange its return.
The service depends on the kindness of strangers to want to return the found item, and for them to be motivated enough to enter the item number on the website and communicate with you. It's an interesting test of human nature... let's hope it's never used for blackmail when you lose your diary! :P
It's a great idea, and I wish them good luck, and many, many happy returns! Check 'em out at SendMeHome.com.
