I don't know how communism can be dead if it was never alive. Communism as Marx saw it, would never work in this world beacause there is no government in the Earth in all of History that could possibley be trusted to create the Communism Utopia. any government with enough power to create it will have enaough power to corrupt itself and would never be true communism. It's easy to choose capitalism over communism, but it's also easy to overlook the intangibles of life in each system and how they affect the quality of life. I think the questions to be asked really are: Is the human being really good in nature? Can we assume a loss of individuality in order to maintain a society of collaboration? Can a society really work without a leader?

Sadly, practice has lead me to believe that the answers to these questions is basically 'no'.
