101 Alternatives to Suicide!
Longtime fan and SuperFan Kate Bornstein's new book Hello, Cruel World is due out in a month or so, and she has a new website to promote it. You can pre-order her book from Amazon now, and the website includes (among other cool stuff) a downloadable pdf sample that's free (and copyright free).
Hello, Cruel World is a fun, playful, and straightshooting book designed to help prevent teen suicides, and features a catalog of 101 Alternatives to Suicide that range from the playful (Moisturize), to the irreverent (Disbelieve the Binary), to the highly controversial (Get Laid. Please). It encourage readers to give themselves permission to unleash their hearts' harmless desires. The book has only one directive: "Don't be mean" and this guiding principle brings its readers on a self-validating journey, forging new paths towards decisions to choose life.
Good luck with the book Kate! Suicide is such a tragic thing, and hopefully your work will bring more awareness to the issue, and make those considering ending their life see that there are lots of alternatives. It can be such a wonderful life, sometimes you just need someone like Kate to show you how to look at it.
