The JoyPoll was...

What's the most interesting thing you learned from this comic?

  • Superman uses an old iMac.
  • That Jor-El and Lara included Kal-El's birth certificate in the rocket that they sent him to Earth in.
  • That trying to deal with Google+ and its ridiculous real-name-only policy is super frustrating.
  • That Superman really shouldn't be wasting his time on a social network.
  • That Superman has graduated from "Great Scott!" to "WTF!".
  • That Lex Luthor works at the Googleplex.

We were an Amazon Associate for over 15 years, but soon after we published a comic unflattering to Amazon, they canceled our account.

When we tried to find out why, we received this reply... "under the terms of the Operating Agreement, we may terminate your account at any time, with or without cause. This termination is final and not subject to appeal." Gee, thanks Jeff.

But don't worry, we will still bite the hands that feed us, even if they don't help feed us anymore.

 About us...

The Joy of Tech is a comic about technology and pop culture, created by Nitrozac and Snaggy, and updated three times a week. We like to feature the people and events that are making today's tech news.

We've been making comics on the web since early 1999, and The Joy of Tech just celebrated its 10th anniversary. We're very proud to be featured regularly on places like AllThingsD (from the people who publish The Wall Street Journal), Bloomberg Businessweek, Macworld UK magazine, Folha in Brazil, and others, both on the web and in print.

We currently live on Vancouver Island, Canada, where we have a lovely perspective of the silicon valleys to the south. We make The Joy of Tech using Apple computers, mostly on our MacBook Pros, running Mac OS X Snow Leopard. We use software from Apple, Adobe, BBedit, OpenOffice.org, and others, including Microsoft (yep, we do use Microsoft Office for Mac on occasion). Nitrozac uses a Wacom tablet to draw her illustrations.
