Yay! Go me! I was listening to Public Interest at work today and the computer guys were on. The Mac guy (Tom) was ranting about how horrible OS X is (at least compared to OS 9) and the others (not to mention other callers) were giving him flack about it.

His bottom line came down to the fact that the Orig. MacOS just worked, bottom line, you plugged it in and it just worked, bingo, you're done. But Mac OS X doesn't "just work," it's more like Windows with driver conflicts, dropping into a terminal, obvious UI oversights, inconsistencies in the interface, and other little glitches that cause a disruption in the work flow. I was in complete agreement with him and I was a little upset that everyone else was giving him crap about it so I decided to call in and back him up, and, I got on the air! Of course, I forgot to TAPE my appearance, but I'll just have to get the clip off the website and record it, no big deal, I guess.

I WAS ON NATIONAL (public) RADIO!! WOO HOO!!! Anyway, just thought you'd like to know...did anyone hear me today?

Without command line access to the kernel untill OS X, I think that OS X has a lot of saving graces that the other mac OS's lacked. Granted that I'd prefer Linux to just about everything, unfortunatly to keep up with technology (devices are software) I unfortunatly use a windowzbox for most of my personal surfing and stuff. However time infront of this box is becomming less and time in front of the Miller computer in the Lab is growing....
