but you're right, 17 was just brutal. it was pretty fun. the windmill one kind of scared me. i don't know if i really clicked at the right time or if the windmill thing's just to try to make you take the longer routes. has anyone actually hit it? maybe it's just a psychological thing but it's impossible to be refused.

I had the most trouble with number 8. The windmill was fun though. Glad i was able to take a break from it and finish my homework first.

I hit the windmill 5 times - I think there's a timing issue on this computer, but it was going really fast. I just got 72 my first time, I'm sure I'll get better quickly.

Edit/Append: 59; 57.

ummm ... 36.

(No, really. I even e-mailed Snaggy a copy of the screenprint for verification. I guess the game just liked me.)

First try: 48. Stoopid windmill and slopes! Rar! Although I have to disagree on #17. I just whacked it as hard as I could at about a 45 angle to the wall, and it bounced back and forth down the path till it was right down next to the hole. Got that 'un in two shots. Maybe it was just dumb luck?

At any rate, it was much more fun than studying pharmacology!

Addendum: 36 on my third try. Darnit! One point short of being a l33t g0lf0r and 0wnzing you all. ....I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. It had to be done. Oh, and my tactic for #8 and #17 still holds true. I nearly got a hole in one on #17, in fact. If I'd just hit a *teeny smidge* harder...

Yes, the slope physics definitely need work. Sometimes the ball rolls completely off them as you'd expect...other times it comes to a dead stop. How does a ball stop on a smooth slope?! Of course what really miffs me is it tends to go when I want it to stop and stop when I want it to go. D'oh!

Hole 18 was the killer for my score. I had a 37 before... ended up with 49 after.

35!

Yay!

(edit) The mark is down to 34.... and 32.... and 30.... =)

(I think I'm playing it WAY too much. Can regularly hole-in-one the first 3 holes, easy).

By dumb luck, I just got it lined up perfectly such that I got a hole in one on 18, giving me a 46. The overall score stinks, because I messed up on 8, 14, and 17. I got holes-in-one on 2,3, and 13.

48, 41, 37

I'm still having trouble with 18 and there are some problems with the ball hitting a wall that it should be missing by a good 10-20 pixels. I agree with most of you that 17 is just annoying. Addicted? I'm not getting addicted

Edit: down to 35 including a 4 on 18. I just can't seem to get his slopes figured out.

Awww, yeah! 29! Any takers on that one? Hole-in-one on 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 12, 13, 15, and....17. Hehe. Mad mini-golf skillz.

Well, Stormy, I see yer 28, and uh...well, I just see it. Tied it, but couldn't beat it....yet...

1/1/1/2/1/1/1/1/1/2/2/1/3/3/1/2/2/2

Friggin' #14 ALWAYS gets me. I cannae do it! Also haven't figured out the trick to #10. As for the windmill, well...I don't think its timing is consistent. Yah...that's it. But dig that hole-in-one on #8!

I noticed there's another miniputt on this guy's website (select "practice").

But the one that's got me addicted now is SnowCraft. It's fun and cute and addictive. My current best score is 84.

That other putt putt was ok. at least i could figure out what way the hills were sloping. That music was annoying though. i did not do as well on it as i did on the other. Bad enough, i don't want to tell you what i got.

Oy...that other mini-golf game was rather slow and clunky for me. A 266 MHz G3 running OSX doesn't handle Flash too well. So I went back to the original mini-putt and...

26!! Mwa ha! ::shakes her groove thang::

1/1/1/1/2/2/1/1/1/2/2/2/1/1/2/2/2/1

Okay, your turn, Stormy!

Here's a bit of advice for that pesky windmill hole. Place the ball as far back on the tee area as possible, and all the way to the left hand side. When putting, pull back to the very edge of the browser window and aim for a spot just before the left hand silvery chute. If you do it right, the ball will bank off the wall just before it enters the chute and come out at just the right angle to bank off the back wall and into the cup. The windmill itself is a red herring.

You know, until you posted that, I'd been doing pretty well getting the ball past the windmill blades. Curse your subconscious suggestions!

Anyway...I give. ::bows down to your superior putt-fu::

Addendum, 10:45 P.M.: Whoops...I guess I spoke too soon. How does 23 sound to ya?

1/1/1/2/2/1/1/1/1/1/2/1/1/2/1/1/1/2

And just in case you're starting to doubt me... (psst...Geocities is really finicky...I guess they're miffed because I haven't actually built a *site* yet...if it tries to tell you the file doesn't exist, highlight the address line and hit enter. For some reason, "refresh" doesn't work. I promise you, though, I DID upload this file. It is SO there.)

Man...the room for error just keeps getting smaller and smaller...now it's all a matter of dumb luck or how much time one has to kill trying to perfect one's shots. Aaaand I think I've brutally slaughtered enough time already.
