Cute means endearing in my book. For everyone it's different. But rest assured, it's almost always a good thing. If I say someone is cute, it means they can make me laugh, usually with wit, as opposed to a joke or something. I once heard a guy say that if a girl was sexy, it meant she looked good, and you wanted to bed her. But if she was cute, it meant she was smart and sexy and everything else that's good, and you wanted to marry her. I think I'd rather be cute in that case. My roomate says that her definition of cute is an action thing. Like, if you do something defined as cute, then you're cute. IP: Logged |

where i come from, cute is only a physical adjective. it's used to describe someone that is hot, but slightly too young to be called hot. i haven't observed any usage of "cute" which refers to personality. ------------------ IP: Logged |

It depends on the person and the context in which they are using the word, try asking the person who used it on you.........Z IP: Logged |

cute is when someones personality shines through them, Like when you see someone walking and you can see their personality in their walk, and you just want to hug them. That is what cute is. Nayt ------------------ IP: Logged |

My Webster's Dictionary says that cute means: "Attractive or pretty especially by reason of daintiness or delicacy." I've always thought of it as being attractive though not necessarily "sexy", and having a certain air of innocence. IP: Logged |

if (human != sexy || human != hot) { printf("\nYou're cute.\n"); return(1); } else { printf("\nAre you free saturday?\n" return(0); } does that answer your question? I think thats the basic if structure for getting you're cute.....but then i could be wrong...i remember being cute.....and DAMN SINGLE......but that was a long time ago...oh well... IP: Logged |

I was called cute when I was 13. I was incredibly shy, still had a high pitched voice and was only 4'11". Today my best friend calls me cute when I do something she considers sweet. I use cute to describe women who are genuinely sweet, caring people. Physically a woman is cute to me if she's attractive without looking pretentious or sultry, or like a model. Our society's obsession with height and certain kinds of looks means that I attach the term most frequently to women under 5'6". My usage of cute is extremely positive and should be considered quite a compliment. All the women who complained elsewhere in this forum that they don't like being called cute, should note one additional thing: I can remember almost every cute girl I've ever known. The rest just don't stick in my mind at all. IP: Logged |

Alright, next question: Is intellectuality really attractive (or do they just say that) and can there be an excess of practical knowlage? IP: Logged |

Bregalad: I believe you have hit the nail on the head. I tend to describe the same type of women as cute, someone who looks good, but not necessarily jaw-dropping, and usually has something about her that makes me lose my head to a degree. These too are people I do not forget. Like this girl I've only seen 5 times in the last couple of months and can't get out of my mind. The only problem is that I've only spoken to her twice, and know nothing more than her first name, where she works (but she's almost never there when I am), and that she looks great. In reference to myself, my friend has called me "cute" when I do something that stands out to her that she likes, like discussing my thoughts about the aforementioned person in a nice, romantic light, whilst I am something of a quiet geek. Often a reference to something she thinks others would like. IP: Logged |

Ok, I couldn't answer this earlier, cause I was in a hurry, but now I can rant. YESYESYES intellecuality is attractive. When I meet someone who I think has potential, I see if he can carry on a good conversation with me. If he can't talk about anything significant, then he's out of the running in my book. Can you have too much practical knowledge? I haven't really thought about it, but I don't think so. You can SHOW that you have a lot of pratical knowledge too often, though. IP: Logged |

You know what!? Besides being a good complement, you can burn someone with the usage of the word "cute." Example: you're trying to say something really witty or your're being totally serious and some girl says "Tee-hee. That was cute..." WTF! Was she even paying attention, or does she not even understand what a "server" is? ------------------ "Hacking is not a please visit IP: Logged |
