OK, I created this today. What's your opinion, does this make me look REALLY desperate?

I plan on printing these out on some business card stock so I can pass them out whenver I need to. What do you all think?

That reminds me of a product Nitrozac and I worked on in the early years of Geek Culture... Geek Mate Date Cards...

Inside was a little form you could fill out, with all you vital info.... fave homepage, Prefered OS, etc... We made a few up but they didn't sell very well. I wonder why?

We settled on the Digital version...

Hehe! I like it. I don't think it makes you desperate, per se...creative, certainly. And it's *leagues* better than using some kind of lame pick-up line. Those seem more desperate to me, by far. Can't hurt that you threw a compliment in there, either.

I'd be inclined to contact you, if just to compliment you on the novel approach. Oh wait. I just did. Heh, funny how that works...

Of course, maybe I'm biased, because I'm often too shy to talk to guys, myself...but I'm sure there are plenty other girls out there that would understand, too.

It depends on who reads it, some will find you to be desperate, but others will enjoy it. Just find the ones who like it, and you will know they are the ones for you. I would have no problem with handing one out, hell I have some that really bad that I have handed out. My favorite card I use at BDSM functions, it reads:

If you are in the mood for sex, keep this card and smile. If you're not in the mood, tear this card an walk away.

Most of My cards are even worse. it all depends on the type of person you wish to find. I think the girl that enjoys your card would definately be a prize catch.........Z

In case no one noticed...I changed the picture that was on my server, hence I changed the picture that showed up here. It's a little different from the earlier version, but I like it better. The only thing now is that I would like to use something other then "Why don't you do us both a favor and e-mail me?", I think it sounds almost arrogant. Any ideas? Oh, and to those that have alreay replied, thanks for the esteem boost!

Aiyana: you know, Colombus is ONLY 6 hours or so away..... And as far as you being biased by being too shy, well, I think shyness is one of the qualities I'm looking to attract, so, if that's the case, it looks like it worked! I'm also glad that SOMEONE understands this concept, all of my friends thought it was "too corney." Hmm...this may work after all.

I tried something similar in high school -- I had a card that read "consider yourself hit upon", or something like that. Slipped it into a girl's purse. Only later I realized I forgot to include any information on it regarding who planted it there. d'oh!

This may work, but if you just walk up to a girl and hand it to her, she will think you are weird. But i think if you have some previous form of conversation with her, it will be better excepted.

Its a good thing just make sure your target group of people are geeks, because I don't expect that the normals would appreciate it.....

i think you're going to find some people who think it's cute and endearing and some who think it's desperate.

But here's the thing -- the ones who think it's cute and endearing are probably better matched to you anyway.

I can't speak for how girls will react, but you might want to reconsider the handing out of links to a site that has BLINK tags around IMG tags..

the best pickup line i every got was from a guy i was sitting next to at a bar. he turned to me, asked for my autograph (which i gave him) and then walked away. it drove me crazy! i had to talk to him after that, and i had to make the next move. maddening! but it worked.

your card's a cute idea. just don't hand it out to too many girls. i'd talk to you!

definatly the most creative way I've seen to
pick up girls. I'd be flattered. I agree with changing the email line. other than that, I think it's great!

Too bad you didn't catch me a year or more ago. I went to undergrad at Hope College in Holland, MI. That probably isn't too far of a piece from you. But alas, I graduated last May, and am now a poor (financially, anyway), overworked veterinary student at Ohio State...where women outnumber men 3 to 1!

Ah, but life does go on.
