Where to begin... 1. Reading Neiztche 2. Reading any real philosophy 3. Most types of reading in general And so on... This is at least true of the girls that live in my general geographic area. Someone please tell me this is'nt a universal law. IP: Logged |

I did think of another way to not get a girl. Don't want up to them and say, "can we have sex" I have not done this, but i am sure it would be a turnoff, maybe i am wrong. ------------------ IP: Logged |

quote: oh and one more thing that scares the girls away. Never ever tell them what you're really like or let your temper get the better of you in a pool hall and get into a fight while on a date. Even if you win the fight and no matter how spectacularly well you handle the pool cue, you've just lost the girl. She will forget your phone number and name at the end of the date and you will most certainly never see her again...... IP: Logged |

I have to agree with Xanthine, Dr. C. If I think a guy is attractive and then find out he doesn't read he suddenly becomes way less attractive. Dr. C, different people find different things attractive. Just be who you are and eventually you will meet a girl who finds you attractive for who you actually are. Don't try to hide things that you feel girls find unattractive, you won't really be happy. And even worse, you might miss out on a chance with someone who might find you genuinely attractive. ------------------ IP: Logged |

quote: Mephisto, that's just wrong. When do you tell them what you're "really like"? It's such a waste of time to get to know someone and then find out they're not anything like the person you thought they were. There should be a form everyone fills out before a date where both people list their worst qualities, bad habits, pet peeves, etc. Then if you can tolerate most of the stuff on each other's list, continue with the date. I did it once and it worked out pretty well... IP: Logged |

According to Euclydian geomitry, i have infinite patience. I belive that anger is a vice that is rarely nessesary. this reminds me of a quote i came up with one day, "why beat women when you can tickle them?". But, back to the topic, i am also a coward who is too shy to talk to girls anyway. I have a fear that they will all be mindless drones of the capitalist fasion market, more intrested in things that aristotle refered to as vices (such as vanity). IP: Logged |

I have to agree. One of the drawbacks of living in the West. If it doesn't have to do with farming, country music, guns, keggers, the military, Christianity (a big one in Colorado Springs), etc., then it generally isn't welcome (with the exception of Denver and a few larger cities out West). ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hey! No one is pointing out the obvious here. If you are trying to use Nieztche with the ladies, well, I have news for you - he is not a turn on. Try reading Barry White lyrics. Also, guys who take themselves way too seriously (cough, european existenialists, nihilists, etc.) are generally to be avoided. no one wants to have pillow talk about the nipple of woe and misery. I think most women want literate, intelligent men - they just don't want the philosophical baggage that might go along with that. If you can't avoid philosophers, at least try to get drunk before you read them. IP: Logged |

by the way! i live in colorado and while i have noticed the conservative blood around here, that just makes it more exciting. in the days before i was basement dweller, some members of very conservative baptist churches might have known me as the whore of babylon. well, i flatter myself. now, i'm just pale and geeky. anyway - the undersexed and the overchurched are the best type. Consider it the "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I don't think the Bible really explores this verse to all its very bawdy possibilities. IP: Logged |

quote: OH cmon! I grew up in the Springs, and I spent a year there a couple years ago before I came into the Navy. I didn't seem to have any trouble meeting women that weren't into those things... Then again I was taking care of kids at the time, and when you walk up with triplet boys who are 3 years old.... Instant chick magnet... It also helped that I wasn't married and only taking care of the kids... Women for some reason really like guys who are good with kids... Go figure. //Thom// ------------------ IP: Logged |

no matter what you do, there is at least one girl who doesn't mind. every time I think something is obviously gonna send the girls screaming away, I run into a site full of girls who enjoy it. I recently discovered a site for people who enjoy vomit. nobody should have to change, just find the someone who shares your interests, they are out there..........Z IP: Logged |

Nietzsche, Marx, both so angry. Kierkegaard and Pascal are more appealing. Not only is Pascal a mathematician as well as a philosopher, but by reading his Pensees I was able to understand exactly what it was I disliked so much about my ex-boyfriend. IP: Logged |

quote: Longmont in particular is indeed pretty conservative. Ten miles south in Boulder (where I am) it is much more "liberal" in the sense of embracing the left-wing mostly but still "conservative" in the sense of not being too tolerant of anything else. But I like it, am 12 minutes by bike from work, and can hit Denver in a trice if I am in need of a smoky bar... Back on topic, I've found the drunken lurching interaction surprisingly ineffective at impressing anyone. I don't know how college kids do it. Two of my favorite moments: Me: lemme see yr lef hand. She: anyone have a lighter? |<> IP: Logged |
