Ok, so I'm using XP (please, I've been in a bad mood, no comments about how I should be using a mac or unix or other smack like that) and have a GeForce 2 video card (64MB ram).

Now, if I use their WDM driver, I can use resolutions up to 2048x1536x16 (or 1920x1440x32).

If I use the detonator driver, It maxes out at 1600x1200x32.

For some reason, Oni refuses to play properly with the WDM. Since I only paid $10 for it, and I've already beaten it countless times, i just installed it (I like my high resolution). But still I wonder why this is. The detonator is supposed to be the shiz, right? So why doesn't it allow me as much diversity?

This is just a guess, but perhaps the WDM driver is tweaked and a bit non-standard, which allows it to reach higher resolutions than the generic detonator driver. The detonator driver's generic nature would make it more compatible, but less capable.

As I said, though, that's just a guess.

a good guess, but I think I can rule it out, both of these were downloaded from nvidia's site, so I think they're both pretty generic. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to suck it up.
