Well, now that we all have been diagnosed by multiple online pop psychology tests as having serious disorders, how about this one: http://test.thespark.com/puritytest/

I got 43%.

Erm... 23%

I'm not sure whether I should be bragging or hanging my head in shame. Out of 9,835,178 submissions before mine, only 3% actually scored lower :-/

57%, which is odd because I rank quite a bit higher on the 400-question test.

I question the relevance of some of the questions, which I don't recall seeing before.  What does religion have to do with purity?

(I wonder if they just generated bogus answers for me after I gave my name as Yougotta B. Kidding and my e-mail address as [email protected]?)

This test is not as good as the real purity tests. I think from the statistics at the end that it also may not be all that representative of actual statistics. I certainly don't think that 7 out of 10 people are purer than I am. I am one of the tamest people I know. It is hard to answer some questions as yes or no too. I could probably go ten points either direction depending upon interpretation.

46%

which is actually lower than the *first* time I took this sucker 2 years ago, which surprises me a bit.

But I've done about everything on that list that I'm willing to do, at this point...might get it down to 40 but I can't see it going lower.

Almost needless to say, I got a relatively high score. Not 100% but still up there.

After going through the test, the people with 30-40% scores disturb me just a little. They may not have answered 'yes' to *all* the really icky ones, certainly more than a few to get that low.

Ahem.  Using the test as a list of things you can do is a point off your purity score, at least on the 400-question.

We-elll...if you really want to get into the history of this thing (as my next-door neighbors in college were wont to do) technically the 500 question test out of Stanford is considered to be the "official" one. There other variants of the "standard" test in 100, 200, 1000, and 1500 question varieties. There are also really zany knock-offs like the Dr. Seuss purity test ("Have you done it in a boat? Have you done it with a goat? Would you, could you at a bar? Would you, could you in a car?")

This version pulls a number of questions from the 500 test, but adds a few of its own to be more relevant to the dotcom crowd. The "official" versions are much more general and almost clinical in their definitions. I tend to have much higher scores on those -- the last time I took the 500 I scored 69% (which got no end of snickering from my college friends, needless to say) and I can't imagine being much lower than 65% at this point.

oh, you mean this one? (my score on this was considerably different than the spark one, mainly because there's no 'have you ever used pirated software?,' et cetera questions. bah!)

this one, of course, is my favorite. to quote a friend of mine, my mind is the gutter.

Woo hoooo, every point counts. I only wish the test were more in depth, they left too much off. Perhaps the writer of the test is not as experienced in such things. I have a list that would be near impossible to change the verbage enough to make it passable for everyones ears >;o) ......Z
