The Joybutton! If you're using a Mac and a newer version of Explorer, here's a neat trick I learned over at MacMerc, and adapted to my sinister plan. Go the the main Joy of Tech page, then scroll down to the very bottom right hand side... there you will find the JoyButton. Drag the little image to the top tool bar of your Mac Explorer browser, it should "stick" afterwards. Now you have a graphical link to the Joy of Tech, one that will update everytime a new comic is uploaded. If you need to delete or move it it, just Command/drag it around, or to the trash. It is cool, and it is currently available without subscription, so do it! Neat! IP: Logged |

quote: Finally got it to update, but I'm not sure "auto" applies. Strange thing was that later I could see the updated JoyButton on the site, but the toolbar stubbornly held on. Refresh didn't work (I have my browser set on "Always Check" anyways). Restart didn't work (how often do you usually have to restart Explorer under OSX, grumble grumble :P) Deleting the toolbar button, then dragging the new button to it seemed hopeful, but still produced "Mona Switcher" and kinda spooked me out. (both "leaving red eyes at night...") Dumped cache and restarted--finally did the trick. Works great for everyone else, I'm sure, probably just me--I do have a habit of breaking things around here....<crunch>...eek!, ...move along, nothing to see here... IP: Logged |

It was never meant for this we're pushing the envelope on this technology. I still think it's very cool. Even though the "Twins Fantasy" button is getting a few curious looks from passers-by at work. IP: Logged |

"Newer" version of Explorer? Um... you mean, Carbon Internet Explorer? 5.0 sure doesn't want to let me do anything of the sort. Not that it matters, though, as I barely use it. - uilleann IP: Logged |
