Yay! Jim from Road Tools is a new sponsor here on the Joy of Tech. Road Tools makes the everlov'in CoolPads, which if you have a laptop, are really handy geeky gadgets. I use my CoolPad Podium 24/7, it raises the screen height for better egonomics, and the swivel action is amazingly handy too. Oh ya, it keeps the laptop cooler too. So, you'll probably see a few CoolPad banner ads in your travels. Please check out Jim's site and what the heck, try one out for free, via the online store at the Roadtools site. Also availabe at all Apple stores or Staples. IP: Logged |

i have a podium for my pb g4 - i'd suggest anyone who uses their laptop a lot might want to check one out. i take mine everywhere my pb goes... i don't know if it keeps it any cooler, but it does make it much easier to type on the keyboard. and the swivel feature is pretty cool, too IP: Logged |

I'm a bit more convinced I need to try one out now I don't find my iBook too warm when I use it on my lap, but I like the idea of it being at a better angle when I don't use it with a seperate keyboard/mouse. Do the coolpads fold flat for travel ? IP: Logged |

The regular coolpads are pretty flat to begin with, the Podium CoolPads (the ones you can raise the laptops back end with) are pretty easy to make flatter, ...the knobs that adjust the height will pull off like Lego. They also make a nice little platform for working off of while in your lap. IP: Logged |

I have a Podium CoolPad too (though I think I havent spend so much money for a piece of plastic in my life before). It provides from getting head or neck pain when working with an iBook, because it raises the display a lot. I was surprised by the effects on the keyboard. It is really much easier to use. mackevin IP: Logged |
