Of course, I sympathize with your dislike (to put it gently) of the Dell dude, but you know ... I find that the old remote control "Mute" button does wonders for my composure and overall peace of mind.

I was tempted to vote "Who's the Dell Dude?" in the quickpoll -- a choice which seems to be winning. But I think I've actually seen one of the Dell commercials, once, a long time ago. I'm not certain of it, though.

I simply don't watch that much television. I watch the X-Files, and occasionally Justice League or Samurai Jack, and... well, that's about it. My kids have Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon on pretty much continuously, and there's a constant war going on between me and them: I want the TV off in the area where my computer is, so I can listen to music. They want the TV on.

Needless to say, the Dell Dude commercials don't appear on Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon....

I'm in New Zealand and haven't seen a Dell ad yet. Mind you, haven't seen an iMac ad either for quite some time, and a competition in a current women's magazine is still showing indigo iMacs as prizes (7 of them http://www.geekculture.com/ultimatebb/icons/icon10.gif). The competition is open to both Australians and New Zealanders http://www.geekculture.com/ultimatebb/icons/icon9.gif.

In about 3 weeks Apple is having a "Road Show", showing off the new 10Gb iPod, G4 iMacs, and 23" screens. I've registered today, and there is a chance of winning a G4 iMac. I'd love to, needless to say http://www.geekculture.com/ultimatebb/icons/icon14.gif, to replace my 333MHz iMac! Love to win one of the others as well to give to my daughter & granddaughter.

Move one or the other to an other area.
