Emergence SOLD!

SOLD!

"Emergence" is a visual playground. Beautiful, bright colors swirl around and pulsate and dancing before your eyes. Finally, when your gaze settles and relaxes, the rainbow Apple magically emerges! It disappears and appears over and over again, an abstract symbol that never overpowers the painting, just supplys a general field of reference, like the sky to clouds.

For me, the painting is most enjoyable when looking at it up close, about a couple feet away, making it suitable for a smaller space. You don't have to have a big space to display it, it would even work in a cubicle. You can spend hours looking at all the little details, the splashes of color, the shapes, and the characters that begin to tell their own stories, straight from your sparked imagination. And do you know what is a really fun game? Trying to spot the same figures and patterns that you saw a day or two before!

You can't help but reach and touch it, running your hand across the surface. It's like a topographical map for your senses, a tempest of color and motion and texture.

I love the kinds of things that appear when you look at the painting...

The lion man:

Alien landscapes, like Saturn's ice moon Enceladus:

Princess Leia and R2D2!

The Figure: could that be the artist and her palette? :P

Painting "Emergence" was extremely therapeutic for me. I fell into a deep meditative state every time I put pallette knife to canvas. My blood pressure lowered, my heart rate slowed and a peaceful calm would wash over me. Perhaps this is why I spent months painting it. It is hard for me to let this one go, but I believe that this peacefulness will transfer to the viewer, giving you a sense of serenity, one conducive to igniting your creative imagination despite whatever chaos is swirling around you.

"Emergence" is the largest painting I've done, which is very exciting for me as well a a challenge. Large work is very desirable in the contemporary art world, adding considerable value to the work. I've set the starting price comparatively low for a painting of this size to give everyone an opportunity to bid and be an art collector. Whoever wins the painting will treasure it, and I'm sure will continue to discover something new emerging from the painting for many, many years.

Because of the large size of the painting, (5 feet by 4 feet) shipping for the painting is extra. I will discuss with the buyer the best shipping method, whether to crate it up and send it whole, or to remove the canvas from the frame. Local delivery on Vancouver Island is possible. To the US and Canada, crated and shipped via a shipping company, I would guestimate that the cost would be at $300.00 - $400.00. To Europe, Asia, or Australia, it could be considerably more. If the buyer is located in Canada, I will have to charge the appropriate HST Canadian taxes.

Painting is for sale at $11,500. If you are interested, please contact us for more details.
