Directions for creating your Jobs-o'-lantern...
Cut a hole in pumpkin's top and clean out the insides, like you would a traditional Jack-o-Lantern.
Print out the pattern, then tape it on your pumpkin. Carefully trace the light-colored areas using a hard pencil or pen to transfer the pattern to the pumpkin beneath.
Use an Xacto knife to remove the light areas, leaving all the darker areas (like Job's glasses, nose, and eyes) in the pumpkin's skin. You can use woodworking tools or pumpkin carving tools for the larger areas. Don't cut very deep into the pumpkin's flesh and don't cut right through the pumpkin! Take your time, a Jobs-o'-Lantern is a precious and delicate thing that will take some time and patience.
When your finished, illuminate the inside of pumpkin with a candle or light and tweak your carving. Remember, the deeper you carve out of the pumpkin's flesh, the lighter the area becomes, so you can make highlights if you wish. Is a Steve Jobs Jack-o-Lantern scary or not scary?
- It's not scary.
- It's scary.
- It's really scary, especially if you've ever worked with the guy.
- It's insanely terrifying, and insanely incredible, especially if you add a recording to it that says "Boom!"
- What's scary is the fact that Nitrozac and Snaggy took the time to make this, and that thousands of people will download it.
- It's scary if you're a pumpkin!

We were an Amazon Associate for over 15 years, but soon after we published a comic unflattering to Amazon, they canceled our account.
When we tried to find out why, we received this reply... "under the terms of the Operating Agreement, we may terminate your account at any time, with or without cause. This termination is final and not subject to appeal." Gee, thanks Jeff.
But don't worry, we will still bite the hands that feed us, even if they don't help feed us anymore. |

The Joy of Tech is a comic about technology and pop culture. We like to feature the people and events that are making tech news. We tend to focus on Apple news and events because they often affect the industry in general, and because we are longtime Mac users here at GeekCulture Headquarters. We create The Joy of Tech using Apple computers, mostly on our PowerBooks, running Mac OS X Tiger. We use software from Apple, Adobe, Macromedia, BBedit, and others, but not much software from Microsoft, although we do use Microsoft Office for Mac on occasion. Nitrozac uses a Wacom tablet to do her illustrations.
