The After Y2K QuickPoll was...
What piece of technology do you hold a grudge against?
  • My inkjet, it's a bitter, spiteful little thing.
  • My digital camera, it's a battery pig.
  • My joystick, it keeps losing my games.
  • My CD burner/coaster toaster!
  • My mouse, it's a disobedient little wrist wrecker!
  • My time machine, it hasn't worked right ever since I set it to Swatch time.

NitroNews:
Sunday, around 10PM EST, I'll be at irc.slashnet, org #aftery2k for the all-out AY2K Halloween Bash! I won't be posting any logs on AWE for this one!

I'm thinking about making an After Y2K year 2000 wall calendar, but I need to judge if there's a demand or not. It would be full colour, feature at least 12 of the best of the past year's comics, and sell for around $18.99. If you'd be interested in getting one, or if you have any suggestions, such as which cartoons to feature, please let me know.

Keeping in the spirit of Abacus World Expo, be sure to check out the latest addition to chromatic's NBS site. :)

Thanks Richard from hbesoftware for the cool swag! hbesoftware is a strong supporter of Alternative Linux 1999, being held in Montreal, on Nov 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Looks like a great show is planned!

Saturday's irc chat at Abacus World Expo... Eric Raymond! It's still tentative, but looking good. More details soon!

Check out the "Wonderful World of Linux 3.0 "AWE Edition"" by Joe Pranevich from Linux Today over at Abacus World Expo! Thanks Joe!

The demand for Abacus World Expo t-shirts has been phenomenal, so I'm printing another run (this time in two colours). Please preorder now to reserve yours.

If you've ordered a t-shirt, please be patient. I've been signing/packing and shipping them as fast as humanly possible, but I recieved 10 times as many orders as I anticipated! Most orders have been shipped or will be soon, with the two colour shirts shipping hopefully in another 2 weeks.

After Y2K™ is a frightfully funny look at what might happen if the Millennium Bug bites hard! Created by Nitrozac, it follows the hapless exploits of a perhaps-slightly-over-paranoid geek as he and his friends seek to come to terms with the legacy of careless coding. The setting: the days and months after January 1st, 2000... all computers, high technology, and most electricity is gone... civilization as Geeks know it has collapsed!
