While I spend my summer in the UK, I have noticed that the people here are a little less than friendly. Finally, at a pub I asked the man who was pouring drinks down my throat why this was. He said that our government was screwed up, thanks to Bush, and that we sometimes seemed backwoods and we put more value on the all mighty dollar than the quality of life. Wow! This really has me thinking...may have to move here..

____ I found while touring parts of Ireland, to see where some of my Grand parents came from. Remember the year was 1985 and I had trouble spending my own money in the PUBS, every barkeep had a large map and a box of thumb tacks, to mark where you were from. and small tags to put on the tacks.

Nah nah, don't believe everything you read (or what drunks tell you in pubs). We are unfriendly because we are all complete bastards.

If your travels take you down this way, get in touch (if you really must), and I'll be distant, rude and unpleasant to you too! [Wink]

I hope you are enjoying your trip. [Smile]

Well, what do you expect in Edinburgh? They've always been snooty bastards.

The folk are much friendlier in Glasgow, you can be sure you'll get a 'Glasgow kiss' in your first few days.

I get kisses in Glasgow? Awesome...heading there in a few days, then Isle of Skyle. I am growing to like it here, but they can keep their haggis:)

Less than friendly? He was pouring drinks down your throat? Sounds plenty friendly to me!

Oh, and haggis is great. Particularly battered and deep-fired, with salt and sauce, but that is an Edinburgh thing, so you'd need to get it before you leave civilisation.
