Now I've forgotten what I was going to write abo ..oh! yes: I wrote to Steve (several times) and the results have been virtually *INSTANT* fixes to problems. (But, of course, the problems were pretty severe before I put finger to keys..)

These weren't problems with the buses not running on time, or hair falling out - though I had been TEARING out my hair over iMovie, the Apple Store, AppleCare, etc - boom! ..instant(ish) fix.

eMail anyone else and what happens? nand. No; I mean "nada".

..er, that's all. Pretty lame post, but then my knees have been hurting, and I've osteo-arthritis. (..What do I do ..put a smiley here? [crazy] )

I didn't heard back. But he is not that famous either - or only in his field I guess.

My boss and I had to change division for administrative reasons, and the changes were not all that smooth. We went from very free to conduct our business to multiple meetings and administrative paperwork...

And I had recently discovered the work of Ted Naifeh, who, among other things, illustrated "Death Junion" (I greatly prefer "Courney Crumrin" and "How Loathsome", but that's not the point). The second book has the "bad guy" expose his mad plan, described as "Burapocalypse". So I enquired to know if there was a way to get a hand on either the original or a good copy (even digital, but good enough resolution for printing) of that one panel/double-page. I never heard back from him, so my boss' office is still unadorned with the missing image... [evil]

Does it count if it was incidental?

I was buying something off eBay and asked the seller several questions. After the second or third email exchange, I realized the seller was the lead singer of my favorite band.

Suzanne Vega bought a propeller beanie from me. That was cool.

Peter Gabriel's bass player Tony Levin emailed me, that was neat.

I've emailed Steve Jobs once when he was ill, I didn't hear back, that's OK.

Plus most of the SuperFans have emailed me, that's always a thrill to hear from those super stars. [Big Grin]

I once emailed Bill Amend, cartoonist who writes Foxtrot, asking when Jason would get an upgrade to an aluminum iMac. He responded that he'd have to upgrade his real kids' iMac before he did the one in the strip.

On another note, I was disappointed to see that there was no "Are you nuts?" option in today's comic.

In high school we had projects on 3 different comic strips per person and we were supposed to try to interview the artists. Gary Trudeau didn't write back, but Scott Adams told me he was fine with me making stuff up, and Bill Amend was very nice and answered all my questions!

Bill Amend is great. We were so thrilled when he made us part of his webcomics comic.

Foxtrot is one of my favorites.

I do not generally write people, and I cannot think of anything suitable impressive to add to this conversation. Except maybe I once emailed Snaggy and he emailed back!!! (I have not washed my electrons since.)

Oh yeah, I also sent Aaron Bleyeart (blogger for Conan's Tonight Show) a facebook message when it was clear the show would be ending, saying that since it looked like they wouldn't be allowed on TV for a while, they should do a live show on tour. Later, when the tour was announced, I asked if my email had anything to do with it, and he said not really, but was ok with me claiming it was my idea.
