You should definitely celebrate with a big steak in the finest restaurant available.

...and since you're a vegetarian and won't eat it, I will volunteer to eat it for you out of the goodness of my heart.

...or something like that [Razz]

Congrats Bibo - I'm nowhere near 20 years yet, but I find a pound of cheese makes a fine celebratory meal. [Wink] [Razz]

first reading the headline yesterday I cannot get

Congrats on the 20. That's truly amazing!

Might I ask why you're a vegetarian?

My mother does it for health reason that I can't quite understand, My brother does it in protest of factory farms, and my sister does it just because.

Thanks all!

Jace, I went veg for ethical reasons. I consider myself a junk food vegetarian. I have been trying to eat healthier the past few years, but still like junk food. So much for the stereotype of skinny vegetarians!

I respect anyone who makes that decision and can stick to it. It takes gusto.

Personally, I probably would die without meat. Dennis Leary said it best when he said "Meat tastes like murder. Murder tastes pretty d*mn good."

To each his own. ^_^

Congrats, Bibo! I am in awe!

I am still trying, little by little... The hardest thing to give up was pork, so i started with that, then 3 days a week are cheese, eggs and veggies only..My husband still likes meat, so it's a bit unfair to him. i might have to settle for just cutting way down.

What meat and poultry we do eat is only free range, organic, or certified ethically farmed. I know it's not the same as giving up, but baby steps...

It's that old "plant-murderer" nonsense again! Think about it! You try to kill a chicken and it runs away. You try to kill a carrot and it just lies there and takes it. What does that tell you? [Wink]

Carrots are completely helpless, they can't run or even scream.....I honestly don't know how vegetarians sleep at night.

Sweet! I went vege 7 years ago. I tried eating fish for a while but in the end I stopped eating that too. I don't know why, but my body just gradually became intolerable of it. Sad, really, because I love fish, I still salivate at the sight of fresh Atlantic salmon.

Congrats on 7 years tim-e,

but it's "intolerant of" - unless the fish really can't abide you!

just sayin' [Wink]
