I've finally found a job. (sort of).
After Over 18 months of searching, I've finally found full time employment (albeit temporary).
I'm going to be a "vacation student" at ISIS for 3 months, which should be pretty cool.
Unfortunately I will see no neutrons, as they are commissioning the second spallation target at the moment. It should, however look awesome on a CV.
I will be moving back in with my parents, who live in the area, which I'm not really looking forward to. Only 3 months though, eh?
I also have interviews lined up with RSC (trainee assistant editor), ICI imagedata, and AWE, who have one helluva bastard security clearance form.
Wish me luck!

Coool! Congrats on the job (even if temporary).
The good thing about moving back with the parents is that you get to keep a bigger part of your paycheck.
And good luck for the interviews! (Get three offers, then get a little more from your first choice! )

So I've heard. Apparently the cuisine is midway between Daresbury and ILL (quelle surprise!). Been there to do work before and once for the interview (such as it was). It's v. impressive inside, but I'll get to work in a dungeon by myself with only an FTIR and two new cells to commission.
The work itself should be interesting and hopefully I'll get at least one publication out of it.

Nice, I'm larnin' how to mash the buttons on an FTIR right now! Them're certainly nice instruments. I miss living with my parents... Food is so much cheaper when it's free.
