When I was a kid, there was this godawful religious cartoon called "Jot" produced by the Souther Baptist's Radio and Television Commission (I'm not making this up, honest). The idea was obviously to teach morality to kids, but the result was... off. Maybe it was the surreal modern art style of the animation. Maybe it was the sickeningly cutesy graphics. Maybe it was just me. I can't quite explain what all is wrong with "Jot", but thanks to the internet and YouTube, you can make up your own mind.

Mmm... cupcakes with guilt frosting
If only my thing whirled and made sounds like that

Hmm... I actually like the art style/graphics, but coupling the jazzy modern style with conservative, hit-you-over-the-head scripture quotes and gems like "when you lie, you hurt something inside yourself" (and when you masturbate, God kills a kitten?) that convey no real sense of actual consequences, it's just bad mmmkay? seems jarring. Almost as jarring as that sentence I just constructed.

I doubt "hip" and "conservative christian" can make a sentence at least.

I moved in with my parents for a short stint when I started college (what does it say that THEY moved out? [Eek!] ), so for a time I had access to tv. Wundershowzen rocks!!! It is one of the few reasons I occasionally sigh and remember tv fondly. (Kill your television!!)
