Not for nothing, but am I the only person who thinks the Vista boxes are really lame? It looks like a really strange book, which strikes me as quite pointless. Oh, and the signature edition box as above...looks like a screen capture from the OS X default screen saver. [Wink] [Actually, that one looks better, and is utterly awesome to just stare at aimlessly.]

Ha. I read the first sentence of your post, scrolled up at the box, thought, "Hey that looks like that OS X screensaver..." :P

Actually the funny thing is that the wallpaper styling in Vista looks, well, rather like the style that Apple introduced during the OS 8 series -- images like Quantum Foam. Apple revised the idea for X, with that much-stolen blue backdrop. Hell, the default kX Mixer skin (this is in Windows) is Apple's classic blue backdrop (well, a variant thereof I think, Apple offer several similar ones).

The snag comes when you create such a beautiful yet sublime style -- what can you possibly do that's better? A perfect blend of motion and stillness, bright colour and serene simplicity.

Microsoft had a tough challenge to better that. The box, though, just looks silly :)

You'd have to be blind to miss the resemblance to that OS X screensaver.

It's so cute that they're trying so hard to catch up to OS X!

Bill needs to get his grubby paws out of the operating system market already. [Roll Eyes]
