You didn't guess it, HOMECOMING (dance)!
Ok, I'm a tad excited, it's semi-formal and I think I've got down how I'm supposed to dress. I have a date, a good one while we're at it.

Anyone have any advice for a freshmen's first dance?

Be yourself. Be aware that nervousness is a perfectly normal human reaction when escorting another gorgeous human creature. The other human will likely be as nervous as you. Of course you'll both do your utmost to hide it or deny it. And besides, if you weren't nervous it probably wouldn't mean that much anyway. So bask in the nerves.

However, I never danced as a freshman, so perhaps I'm not the best one to bequeath advice to those who have the privilege.

Let her mom pin the corsage on her. It saves lots of embarrassment. (Accidentally sticking her with the pin, reaching in her dress to hold the corsage against the fabric, dropping the pin down her bra... need I go on?)

Unless of course you were smart and got her the wrist corsage. [Big Grin]

The wrist corsage is a regular corsage, but mounted on a metal backing with a pretty elastic band/ribbon attached so she can slip it onto her wrist... no pins involved! [Big Grin]

Brilliant! Thanks, thought it appears that it might be too late to get one of those, seeing as there are about 21 hours til homecomming [Big Grin] .

Check with your local florist. They usually have a few extra for guys such as yourself. [Big Grin]

Oh...I was going to say tomorrow is October 15, 2005. (Actually, it's 'today' already.) Life's not nearly as exciting for me. [Wink]

Have fun!

Ok, so here's my luck. She's sick as a dog this morning. No Homecoming.

Awwww I am so sorry honey. What a bummer. I missed my prom for reasons I will not discuss. If you have it in you, go solo. It will be fun and I am sure there are girls going alone (there always are). I missed my experience and I always wish I had gone.

I would but, my date was an actual girlfriend, not just some girl I asked. The odds are horrible at my school. There are 160 kids in our freshmen class. 45 are girls

I attend a Catholic school called Bishop Manogue. It is quite the high end school

EDIT: Oh I forgot to tell you what I did instead, I went the Beach Boys concert here in Reno. I'm good friends with a grandson of Mike Love so we got backstage passes plus I got to go out on stage. It was a blast.
