I'm very excited. Tonight is Green Day. It's been a couple months since I've been to a concert my last one was Metallica. Tonight should be a great show. [Big Grin]

I'll refrain from getting into the "why metallica sucks" debate, but I've seen Green Day live. They're fun. They always pull a drummer, bassist, and guitarist out of the crowd, and let them play one of their songs for them, since even they know they're all pretty simple.

I hate Metallica. They started sucking hard after 'Master of Puppets' and I really hate that midget Lars Ulrich.

The last time I saw Metallica was in concert was 1990. They were still good then! [Big Grin]

You're only saying that because you are afraid they will sue you.

With the exception of St.Anger I think Metallica is a very good band with allot of talent and some very good albums. And it was their manager that they fired that was making all thoes threats to people downloading music not the members of the band.

Has anyone else noticed bands are firing there managers left and right and taking control of the bands themselves? Aerosmith, Metallica, Skywind ....... so on and so forth

I don't think so. What about suing another band on the grounds that you own the chords E and F [Roll Eyes]

Assholes with swollen ego's plain and simple. They didn't get pissed in the 80's when people were copying their music to cassette and sharing it......which actually made them rich and famous. Once they 'made it' their music went as limp as their dicks.

Umm, Vic, that article is satire. But, Mac D, it wasn't just their manager that was anti downloading and Napster, at least one of the members of the band spoke out strongly against it.

As for their music, well, I like both pre Black and post black album Metallica. But I've got fairly wide musical taste, so that's understandable. It's certainly a very different Metallica now than it was then. Oh, and whichever single I heard off St Anger sounded like dog doodoo. And that's coming from someone who actually likes stuff from Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit.

Update: It was an awsome concert. One of the best I have been too. And I have been to allot of concerts. My favorites are still the outdoor whole day concerts like Ozz fest But this one in a big arena was just great. We had GA standing room. The band really got the crowed involved in the whole thing unlike some bands that just go on stage sing the songs then go.

They did We are the champions by Queen and they also did that one song that goes "You make me want to Shout! lift my hands up and Shout!"

The one thing is that I did feel a little old. Most of the people there where about in high school. But on the plus side there was no lines to get beer. [Big Grin]

Bset concert I've seen is AC/DC. Hands down. Bar none.

Next best I've seen is Finger Eleven. They know how to put on a show. I've met them too -- really nice guys. All of 'em. I've seen them live about .. oh.. 20 times. [Big Grin]

Hmmm. It's some kind of Internet Law, like Godwin's Law.

"Any music discussion thread has a probability of someone posting 'Metallica has sucked since Cliff died' that approaches one."

You can call that Zorgon's Law if you like.

I'm not surprised Green Day put on a good show. I am surprised at the sheer brilliance of their latest album. It is fantastic.

And the Who really sucked after Keith died, too.

My friend went to see Green Day when they were in our area a couple of weeks ago. He said it was awesome. Their new album, despite the political tone of it, is good.

As for Metalica, I couldn't care less for them and the whole dark metal rock genre.

I thought Metallica's newer stuff was pretty good -- even Load and Reload are OK.

But St. Anger is... just... so... fucking... horrible!

Does anyone actually like that album? Anyone at all?
