Hello! Hello! Hello!

Did you watch the LOST finale? I did!

I did not watch the show much. i just dropped in from time to time.

From the very start, I thought the show was a Jacob's Ladder ally-gory. Down the ally and there is the gory!

If you saw the Adrian Lyne film with Tim Robbins, then sing the WHO! We won't be fooled again! Ha! Ha! Ha!

I mean, you crash in an aero-plane then the world you know is gone and crazy stuff starts and the lame can walk? Hell-00000! You are dead!

You just don't know it!

And the character Jacob? Ten-pound hard salami in the head! Jacob's Ladder!

Somebody answer the door! Mr. Obvious is knocking!

So it turned out the way I thought.

Cool that it was multi-theistic, too.

What do you think?

Mr. Geek 2U!

They weren't dead! Everything that happened on the Island was real. The plane crashed, they survived, and all the rest was real. Jack died in the bamboo forest, with his last thing he saw the plane carrying away the final survivors. Good ol' dog was there, older now.

The dead part was the sideways world, which was a kind of timeless Purgatory. Once all the dead souls became enlightened, they all met, then proceeded on to whatever is next.

I liked it, thought it was hokey, and didn't really like the nice Ben, but overall, I thought it was a fitting end.

Please, no spoilers, some of us won't be watching it until tomorrow night.

I can't wait until Hollywood picks up the same ending format to every film to cover their test audience problems with not having happy endings.

Expecting a Lost style happy ever after new last series for Blakes 7 at least but betting Reservoir Dogs will get the treatment first.

One scene missing from the finale that I would have loved to see...

Kate returning to civilization and explaining to the authorities how she came to be one of the few survivors of a lost plane flight, twice.

I guess I'm the only one who has no idea WTF happened?

I have a real problem with the 'crossover' and the reality vs. not stuff...

I fear I may be a bit too logical to factor in sufficient 'suspension of disbelief.'

On a related note, the 'smoke monster' thing /still/ bothers me.
*Most* things in Lost have some allegedly feasible explanation as provided by flashbacks...and seemingly tie into the phenomena of the island...but that one doesn't really 'add up' to me.

There's already a sitcom spinoff in the works. [Razz]

But seriously...

The producers have said there won't be a movie or any TV spinoffs, but there will be an epilogue in the DVD release, showing what happens with Hurley and Ben on the island after the events shown in 'The End'.

I thought it was the original crash survivors at the end, wasn't it? Christian said "some died before you, some after". I didn't think at all that it was the sideways people, but then again, I never understood the sideways plot.

I was very disappointed the entire season. JJ Abrams did exactly what he did with Alias-started phenomenally, then moved onto another project and "lost" his way. Whilst I was glued to the tv the 1st few seasons, this season I really didn't care about any of them. I thought the heart of the whole story was gone. I mean, the one with Alison Janey?? come on! And they never explained anything, really.

Anyone have any ideas why Walt and Michael weren't there?

ABC says crash montage was not part of the final story...

ABC - and not executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse - threw that scene in there as a “visual aid” to ease the transition from the series finale to the 11 p.m. news. [shake head]

It would have been better if Joss Whedon had produced it. Not because he'd have done anything differently, but because it would have been canned after season 2 and we'd have remembered it without all the half hearted attempts to explain the stuff they made up at random during season 1.
