Hey everyone,

Hope you don't mind if you spam you with my first iPhone/iPod Touch game, LayOut.

You have to fit the given words into a grid in a crossword pattern.

Superfans and long-time members can e-mail me for a free copy if you're interested (US-only though, sorry).

Congrats Max. Just bought me a copy. One issue tho: once a word is red, I can't seem to make it normal again. Anytime I tap somewhere it just rotates the word. Am I missing something?

Red means the word isn't in a valid spot. So the first piece can go anywhere, but following pieces must interlock with the first piece (and follow other crossword rules, e.g. not make any other word accidentally.

I'll have to get an update out with that made clearer, but I might leave it a couple of days so that I can incorporate fixes for bugs that anyone finds.

Of course I still can't seem to get past the first level. [Razz]

Ohh...based on feedback, I realize this means it's a 'Not at all like a famous Parker Brothers game' game. Until I realized this, I was _very_ confused by that screenshot.

"Crossword" means something /very/ different to me.

Dman: It's like a reverse crossword; you're given the answers and you have to arrange them into a crossword. Though now I look at Wikipedia, I see American crosswords are a bit different in style; maybe that's worth doing something about.

You're given each word as a whole rather than individual tiles, so it's very different to Scrabble (if that's what you were referring to). As far as I know the idea is pretty original.

All I need is an iPod version of Across Lite, thank-you-very-much.

Oh, what's that? Google?

http://appbeacon.com/apps/003292/2-across-lite-edition

Now why didn't I think of that before? Tomorrow may be a very nice day!
(Actually, I may try another app instead...but at least I know to start looking!)

Regarding your idea: Very interesting...and quite different.

Now I see my confusion at your wordplay was not unwarranted...and I'm sorry I 'labelled' your software too early on. [Razz]
